Chapter 4

The next day arrived and the entire Madrigal family went about their daily activities. When Mirabel finished her activities, she went to the town to see the children who came out of their houses to look for her to play with them and finish telling the story that she could not finish the day before.

-Then Antonio gave me the doorknob and my family was there waiting for me to give the last touch to the rebuilt house- Mirabel narrated in front of the children who were sitting listening to her excited -Then a light expanded through the whole house and the magic flowed through it again and the gifts returned to my family- Mirabel said taking out the framed photograph that was taken that day of the Madrigal family showing it to the kids -I can say that it is the best family photo that we have all taken together-

-It's a funny picture!! They are all together!!- said the children with excitement -Mirabel thank you for the story!!- all of them hugged her and then returned to play games in the streets

-Well that was fun- said Mirabel putting the framed photograph in her bag again and seating in one of the street benches

-It was indeed..even listening from afar I could appreciate the story well thanks to the special effects that you make with your gestures- Mariano said appearing next to Mirabel

-Oh Mariano Hey, I was waiting for you- said Mirabel standing -So where are we going?- she asked walking beside him

-There's a new restaurant that opened last week I wanted to go there with you...people from the town said they have great food and coffee- said Mariano with a smile extending his hand towards Mirabel waiting for her to take it.
Mirabel saw the hand and then Mariano, he looked expectantly at her and she decided to reach for his hand and like that the two of them together started their way to the restaurant.

They enjoyed the food, and decided to stay in the restaurant to chat over coffee. Mariano told her about his childhood and how he helps his family since his dad died, working hard to make his mother proud, how much he likes to write poetry and in a way letting know Mirabel that that's how he became the young man that most of the town admired for how handsome and kind he is. Mirabel told him about how her coexistence with her family was now and so little by little they both developed a pleasant talk.

-Oh!! it's you Mirabel!! My grandkids talk about you all the time - said an old woman when she recognized Mirabel at the restaurant -Oh! I didn't know you already had a boyfriend... and oh my did you get a handsome one, you're very lucky- she said with a smile looking at Mariano, without noticing how Mirabel almost choked in her coffee blushing

-I think the lucky one is me ... After all I was the one who asked her out on a date so that we could get to know each other better- said Mariano handig a napkin to Mirabel, who thankfully accept it

-Oh I see that's really romantic, you must like her a lot- said the old lady and this time was Mariano's time to blush but he hid it well by looking to the side while clearing his throat -Well I'll leave you two to enjoy your date, I know love when I see it and this looks like it will have a grate future...see you around Mirabel- said the old lady walking away with a smile as Mirabel waved her goodbye

-Well... I didn't expect that- Mirabel said breaking the silence that had been created

-But she wasn't wrong tho...- said Mariano, making Mirabel turn to look at him carefully -I mean I do like you...a lot and I was planning on tell you that tonight and ask you to be my girlfriend...it's alright if you don't like me...I'll underst-...-

-I like you!- said Mirabel looking at him -I mean...yes I like you and yes I would like to be your girlfriend...if that's alright with you- she said quickly, feeling the blush burning her face

-I...I'm glad you said yes- Mariano said taking Mirabel's hands in his looking at them -I was so afraid I would lose you as my friend if I confessed how I feel...-

-You would never lose me...also as I said I like you and I want you to be happy- said Mirabel smiling at him

After that, Mariano walked Mirabel home and waved goodbye to her and la casita Madrigal before leaving to his house.
-You two are so cute together- said Dolores coming out of nowhere, receiving Mirabel inside the house with a hug
-Thank you...for listening and talk with me last night- said Mirabel hugging her back
-That's what family's for- said Dolores smiling
