Fourth challenge here I come!
CHALLENGE: Create a contrasting cover using the words that we are given. I got SAD and HAPPY.
They work both ways.
So, I'm tired of looking at contrasting covers. They were fun for a while and now I need something different. And since the challenge is exactly that I needed to find a way to do it in a way I'll like.
Obviously inspiration are playing cards mixed with a bit of tarot ideas. (because I'm apparently on the quest to, in some way, connect all the covers made for this war). Tarot in some versions of readings has opposite meaning for upright and reverse cards.
So by that point I had:
1. It has to work upside down - SYMMETRY
2. CONTRASTNext went the symbolism and how to present each emotion. Initially I wanted to have the same model with different expressions but I couldn't find satisfactory stock. So I went abstract?
Sadness was easy because there are so many obvious ways to do it. I picked rain, night, bare branches and clouded mind.
Happiness was a bit of a challenge. Sun was an obvious choice as well as golden leafy branches. Goldfish came when I did a bit of research. Apparently in Buddhism two goldfish represent joy and happiness. Plus they worked really well with the palette. I shall not admit that's actually the only reason I chose those.Moon, "sun rays", hair and that drip effect are drawn by me.
