A woman, beautiful and great. She surpassed all expectations. From her beautiful h/l h/c hair to her soft and glittering s/c skin. Y/n was the definition of beauty.

The only times humans could "see" her is when they went to churches and they had an image of her in stained glass. Of course, even that didn't compare to her true beauty. Nothing made by humans could even come close to the truth.

Her eyes always remained closed, like a seal that refused to break. Glistening tears poured from her eyes nonstop, dampening her beautiful and long eyelashes, staining her soft and angelic cheeks, and running down her chin.

She always held a sad expression. Never once did anyone ever see her happy. Not that anyone ever actually saw her. Some would try to draw her with a "better" expression, they would be shunned and shut away from everyone else. Things like that cause death, or in other words, the taking of their own life.

To the humans, Y/n, The Goddess of Life and Beauty shouldn't have to be "forced" to be something she's clearly not. If she's unhappy, you cannot force her to be happy. Especially if she is a god.

To them, she was everything. "Praise Y/n! Bow down to Y/n! Our Goddess!!" They would say. Men and women alike drooled over her, dreamed to be her, were jealous of her, hated her, loved her.

"They're fawning over you again, my love."

"I know." Y/n spoke softly. She turned to the man, looking up at him. The two stood in front of a dark and blue window, large enough to be a room itself. Y/n walked closer to the window, closer to the man. He caught her waist in a tight grip with his hand and pulled her into him. "Hades." She said in an undefined tone.

Hades looked down at her, studying her beautiful features. Even with her eyes shut, she looked more beautiful than a doll. Her glossy lips looked like glass and her skin resembled porcelain.

Even if she couldn't see him, she looked up at him with a questioning aura. "You're so... calm." He stated, thinking mid-sentence. With his other hand, he caressed her face and pushed some of her hair back. Her skin was warm and contrasted his ice cold feel.

Y/n leaned more into him. "Why wouldn't I be?" She asked quietly. The grip on her waist tightened, defining her curves even more.

He stared into her closed eyes. "I'm the God of Death." He responded instantly. His hand ran down her cheek and rested on her chin. Her mouth went slight agape.

"That doesn't mean you're bad. That's how they see you because of what you are. They don't know you. I know you." Y/n replied as she placed one hand on his cheek and the other on his chest.

Hades leaned down and caught her lips in a kiss. Y/n rubbed her thumb over his chiseled cheekbone as they kissed. Hades' hands both gripped onto her waist and pulled her closer, if that was even possible. Her chest pressed tightly against his and she stood on her toes.

Y/n pulled away and "stared" up at him. Her head was angled upward and she adorned a gentle smile on her face. Her endless tears continued to pour from her sockets, but Hades could feel the positive emotions radiating off of her.

"You love me?" She questioned. Hades grabbed the side of her face and leaned towards her again.

"Always." He replied. Their lips were captured in another kiss, passionate and loving.

The human world would never know of their love. They would not understand. They would not allow themselves to comprehend that someone as great as the Goddess of Life could love the God of Death.

Well, life and death go hand in hand. They need each other. There can't be one without the other. They complete each other. Like a puzzle piece connecting to another. You can't complete the puzzle without both pieces.

"You love me?"

"Always."

Humans think those words are theirs, they're not. Those words belong to the lovers Y/n and Hades.
