"Started off as strangers, how did we get to this"
-Unkown

It had been a month since Lizzie's first dance lesson and things were going surprisingly well, not just for dancing. Natasha and Steve started to hangout more with their kids and even though Steve had a crush on the red head, he still never asked her out.

"Come on daddy" Lizzie shouted as she made her way to the dance studio doors

Steve chuckled and jogged to catch up with his little girl before opening the door and entering the studio.

Once inside Steve was greeted by a all to familiar laugh, one that he loved so much. He turned to where the laughter was coming from and was surprised to see Natasha laughing at something a shorter brunette man had said, she then kissed his cheek and bid him goodbye. Steve could feel his blood boil and the jealousy rise in his veins.

Natasha turned and smiled at Steve and he couldn't help but to smile back.

"Good morning Miss Natasha" Lizzie greeted as she ran up to the red head and gave her a hug

"Good morning Lizzie" Natasha greeted back as she returned the hug

"Who was that man" Lizzie asked curiously

"Lizzie" Steve said as he gave her a look of disapproval, although he had to admit he was curious as well

Natasha cleared her throat "that was my friend, Rick "

Lizzie gave her a curious look "is he your boyfriend"

"Um, no" Natasha replied with a small chuckle

"Hi Steve" they heard a small male voice greet

"Evan" Steve greeted "what's up" he asked noticing the disappointed look on Evans face

Before Evan could answer Natasha pulled Steve away. Steve gave her a confused look.

"Um, I know your busy with your boxing and stuff but, um, Evans father was supposed to show up yesterday and never did" she started

Steve gave her a look of sorrow and confusion, he couldn't understand how someone wouldn't want to spend time with Evan, he's an amazing kid.

"Is there anyway you can watch him today, I can pay you" she added

"Yes, of course I can watch him and you don't need to pay me" he replied giving her a reassuring smile

"Thank you, I owe you" she said

Steve shook his head "no you don't" he reassured her with a smile

She nodded and went to tell Evan to get his things and go with Steve.

"So..." Evan trailed off as he sat down in his car seat

"I'm going to go to the gym for a bit then I figured we could go to the batting range, you like baseball" he said with furrowed eyebrows, figuring that Evan was going to ask what they were going to do

"yeah, I love baseball" Evan smiled and Steve smiled back before hopping in the driver's seat "Steve" Evan called out

"Yeah?" Steve asked as he glanced up at Evan from the rearview mirror

"When are you going to asked my mom out" he asked innocently

Steve sat there for a minute, trying to process what Evan had just asked.

'Did he really just ask me that' Steve wondered

"Lizzie told me you'd think about it....are you done thinking" Evan added

Steve had to admit, Evan was right. He did tell his daughter he'd think about asking Natasha out and he did, he thought about it all the time. He couldn't get her out of his head and quite frankly, he didn't want to. He loved everything about her, her smile, her voice, her kindness. But was it right, would this lead to love or would it lead to another heartbreak?

Steve cleared his throat "um, we're here" he said as he pulled into the garage of the gym

Evan sighed in frustration and rolled his eyes before unbuckling his seatbelt and following Steve inside.

"Hey Grandpa" Evan greeted with a smile as he saw Nick standing inside the ring, boxing gloves on and ready to punch

Nick turned his attention to the little boy and smiled, opening his arms for Evan to hug him, which he did.

"I didn't know you'd be here" Nick stated with a curious look on his face but his smile still present

"Natasha asked me to watch him for a while" Steve stated as he put on his gloves

Nick gave him a shocked look

Natasha never left her son with anyone but him, Clint and Maria. Nick loves his daughter but he had to admit she has some major trust issues and to be honest he didn't blame her.

His shocked expression soon turned into a smirk "you've made quite the impression on my little girl, you know"

Steve scoffed "we're just friends"

Nick rolled his eye and chuckled amusedly "sure 'just friends'" he said as he air quoted the last two words

"Can we get to work" Steve asked a little frustrated, this was not the time to talk about this especially with her son right in front of them

Nick nodded and turned his attention to Evan "there's a basket ball court, through that door" he said as he pointed to a bright red door "why don't you go play while we box" he suggested

Evan looked at the door then back at Nick smiling and nodding before running to the door and going inside.

Steve and Nick both chuckled at Evan's actions before they started their sparing session

"Seriously, you two are perfect for each other" Nick said as Steve threw a punch

"What makes you say that" Steve asked throwing another punch

Nick sighed and put his hands down, Steve looked at him confused "you both know what it's like to have you heart ripped out by someone you trust" Nick replied nonchalantly but honestly

Steve didn't say anything else after that, they just continued with what they were doing. After his training Steve took Evan to the batting range, as promised and once it was time Steve and Evan hopped in his truck and drove to the dance studio.

"Mommy" Evan shouted as he ran up to Natasha and gave her a hug

Natasha smiled and kissed the top of his head "how was your day with Steve"

Evan turned to Steve and smiled before looking back at Natasha "great, I think he wants to ask you something"

Steve gave him a shocked look while Natasha gave Steve a confused one

"May I go play with Lizzie" Evan asked

"Um, yeah, I don't see why not" Natasha replied and without say anything else Evan ran off to go play with Lizzie "so, what is it that you wanted to ask me" she asked with a curious look

"Um"

'It's now or never' he thought

He cleared his throat "Natasha Romanoff, will you go on a date with me" he asked

Natasha smiled "I would love too" she replied

Steve smiled back at her and for a split second all they saw was each other, just like in the fairy tales.
