"How'd it go" Clint asked Steve as he walked into the gym seeing Steve punching the punching bag like it was nothing

Steve turned around to face Clint and gave him a small smile "how'd what go" he asked jokingly, already knowing what his friend was asking about

Clint let out a huff of frustration as he rolled his eyes "your date with Nat"

Steve chuckled lightly "it went great"

Clint smirked "planning on going on a second one" he asked with a cocked eyebrow

Steve smiled "yeah, I am"

Clint opened his mouth to say something when he was interrupted by his phone ringing. He groaned in annoyance but quickly picked up the phone once he realized who it was.

'Natasha, she never calls when she's at the studio' he thought to himself

"I need to take this" Clint told Steve as he pointed towards his phone

Steve nodded in understanding and Clint answered the phone as he walked away.

"Hey Tasha, what's up" he asked as he answered the phone

"He wants to take him away Clint" she replied frantically it sounded like she was on the verge of tears

Clint furrowed his eyebrows in confusion "who wants to take who" he asked confusion laced in his tone

"Alexi, he's here to take Evan" she replied

Clints eyes grew wide in rage. How dare Alexi want to take Evan from Natasha after everything he's done to them.

"He says if I don't comply he'll send me to court" she added sadness and worry in her tone

"I'm on my way" he said and hung up the phone before she could say anything else "I'm leaving" Clint stated in anger as he walked into the main gym area where Steve was still punching the bag

"You just got here" Steve stated but when he turned around and saw the anger and concern on his friends face he knew something was wrong "what's wrong" he asked concerned with furrowed eyebrows

"I have to go, I'll talk to you later" Clint replied nonchalantly "maybe, if I don't end up in jail" he muttered to himself

As Clint left the building he went through his contacts till he reached his father's number.

"Clint, you better have a good reason for calling, I'm in a meeting" Nick said in a serious tone as he answered the phone

Clint sighed "I'm calling because I know Nat won't"

"What's wrong with Nat" Nick asked concerned

"Alexi, meet me at the dance studio" Clint replied knowing all he had to do was mention Alexi and that would send his father over the edge

"I'm on my way" Nick replied then hung up the phone

Clint could tell that his father was beyond pissed at this point. He quickly hoped into his car and drove to the dance studio.

Good thing it's the weekend and Natasha doesn't have any classes because this would definitely be awkward.

As Clint arrived at the studio he saw that his dad's car was already there, as expected. He took a deep breath before entering the building. Once inside he saw just what he had expected, his father yelling at Alexi and Natasha trying to separate the both of them. Before Clint could walk over to them, he felt a weight wrap around his legs he looked down to see a very teary eyed Evan looking up at him.

"Uncle Clint I'm scared" he said in almost a whisper

Clint gave him a sad smile before glancing back at the two arguing men and his sister who was desperately trying to break up their argument before it turned into a physical fight. He picked Evan up and carried him over to Natasha.

Natasha gave Clint a concerned look while both men were still red with anger not paying attention to the little boy in front of them.

"I'm gonna call Steve, you stay with him while we handle Alexi, I want to make sure your safe" Clint said to her in a whisper

Natasha gave him a unsure look

"Nat, please" he half begged

Natasha sighed in defeat and took Evan into her arms before leaving the studio and going to her car

"Hey where the hell are you taking my kid" Alexi yelled after Natasha as she left the building

"He's not just your kid" was all she said before going through the front door and exiting the building

Clint pushed Alexi back "we need to talk like adults, so, I suggest you sit down" he said with authority as he pushed him into the other room

Once Evan was safely buckled in his car seat, Natasha started to drive to the address that Clint had texted her.

"Mommy" Evan called

Natasha looked up at him through her rearview mirror "yes sweetie"

"Is daddy gonna take me away" he asked innocently with tears in his eyes

"No, no, no, he's not" she replied instantly although on the inside she is just as scared as her son is

After a while of driving Natasha pulled up to an older looking house, she pulled out her phone to make sure it was the right address.

"This should be it" she said more to herself than to anyone

"What are we doing here" Evan asked curiously as he took his mother's hand and examined the house in front of them, she lead them up the front steps of the house

"We're here to see a friend" she replied nonchalantly as she knocked on the door

"Hey-" Steve said as he opened the door

"Steve" Evan shouted with a big smile on his face, the first smile he's had since his father showed up

It made Natasha smile to see her little boy so happy.

"Hey buddy" Steve replied as he picked the little boy up in his arms "come on inside" he said to Natasha as he carried Evan inside with him "you want to watch a movie" he asked as they got inside

"Yeah" Evan replied with a smile as he nodded his head enthusiastically

Once they were all settled on the couch with Evan in between them, they settled on watching Chicken Little . Halfway through the movie Steve felt a light weight on his shoulder, he looked down to see Evan sound asleep, he let out a small chuckle "look who fell asleep" he said to Natasha in a whisper

Natasha looked over and smiled "smile" she said as she took out her phone and took a picture of the two

"I'll put him in bed" he said as he picked the little boy up in his arms and carried him to the other room, once he got back into the living room he gave Natasha a sympathetic smile "you okay" he asked her gently as he sat beside her on the couch and put her feet on his lap massaging them

She sighed "yeah"

Steve cocked a eyebrow "come on, I know you better than that"

She let out a small chuckle although they have only been on one date the pair have known each other for a while now and they sure knew how to read one another.

"Truth?" She asked

"I wouldn't ask if I didn't want it" he replied with a small smile

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly "I'm scared Steve" she admitted

Steve nodded in understanding and wrapped her in his embrace "I've got your back" he whispered and that gave Natasha a since of comfort but also made her reminisce about a certain dancer she once knew
