After a few weeks on the small island, Firefly & her companions were ready to return to the rainforest.
"I think that I will accompany them," Kestrel said to her son & her daughter-in-law the night before the travelers' departure, "I wish to see what Glory has been up to, see how she is doing."
"Fine by us," the young couple answered.
& so kestrel took off with the princess of the RainWings & NightWings towards the mainland.
Upon arrival, the princess & her dragonets were welcomed back with open wings. The unfamiliar SandWing & SkyWing were shot with tranq darts & placed in a net to be carried to the royal pavilion.
When Kestrel awoke, she saw a pair of teal talons only a few inches away from her snout. Directly beside the first pair, were a set of black talons. Kestrel raised her head & peered into the shocked blue eyes of one Queen Glory of the Rainforest.
"Hey, kid," she rose to her weak talons, her head spinning from the fading effects of the darts. When she looked around the room, she spotted a large NightWing in shining black armor wrapping his wing protectively around his frightened queen.
"Kestrel," the queen's voice came in a breathy whisper.
"& you're Glory," Kestrel responded sarcastically, "Now that we know each other, mind introducing your friend here?"
"This is my husband, Deathbringer."
"Ok, so this is the part where we each explain a couple things."
