FORMER PEE WEE coach and minor league player Gordon Bombay makes the move to the national stage as he steps behind the bench for team U.S.A.
Coach Bombay's Ducks will be joined by some of the top young players from around the United States.
"Tell me about my new kids," Gordon said to Tibbles, as the whole team stood from behind them.
"That's Luis Mendoza," He points to a young man wearing a South Miami jersey. "He's from our Miami club. A real speedster. Incredible skater."
He puts on his helmet and starts to skate around the ice, going crazily fast.
"I clocked him at 1.9 seconds, blue line to blue line," Tibbles continued.
Connie was impressed, "Good-lookin' skater."
"Very good-lookin'. What do you think, Guy?" Averman teased.
"Shut up, Averman," Guy shoved him onto the ice, and he let out an "oof".
"He has one minor problem," Tibbles spoke, while Luis crashed into the boards. "Has a little trouble stopping."
Goldberg clicked his tongue, "I'd say so."
A boy wearing a Crockett jersey and a cowboy hat came up to them, "Yee-haw! How is everyone! Y'all ready to play some puck?"
"Hey look, it's Hopalong Gretzky," Jesse laughed, making the others chuckle along with him.
"That's Dwayne Robertson from Austin," Tibbles introduced. "He's the best puck handler I've ever seen."
Coach Bombay turned quickly towards him, "You mean for his age."
"No, I don't."
"Hey! This is easier than ropin' hogs! Yee-haw!" Dwayne moved back and forth on the ice flawlessly. He hit the puck through his legs, catching it right after.
"He does have a tendency to showboat."
Coach Bombay let out a quick "wow", before Tibbles moved on to the next player.
A blonde girl skated up to the goal and put here helmet on. "That's Julie "The Cat" Gaffney. She won the state championship for Maine three years in a row."
"Well, we have a goalie," said Coach Bombay. "Goldberg."
He turned his head towards the goalie, who was warming up. "All right! Bring 'em on! I'm the man! I'm the man!" He shouted.
"Watch this," Tibble laughed, tilting his head towards Julie.
Averman tried to score on her, then Y/n, and then Connie.
Julie had blocked all of the shots.
"Well.. We could use a backup," Coach Bombay shrugged, with a smile on his face.
