Angela's pov
---------------

When Elijah got back into the car, after his talk with one of his guards, he has been quite tense. Through the whole drive, he was gripping the steering wheel while clenching his jaw.

He also hasn't said a word to me, which made me curious about what the guard had told him.

When we arrived back at the mansion, Elijah went straight to his office and called Dante to meet him there.

I didn't want to bother him, so I went to the garden. It's a little over 3pm and I'm already exhausted. All that running from the mall has me wanting to sleep for days. My brothers has always been more athletic than me.And to be honest, I'm just lazy.

I just came to the realization that my brothers and my father hasn't contacted me for almost two weeks. Did something happen to them? Or are they still angry over my decision about staying here?

I'll just have to give them a call later tonight.

Just before I rounded the corner, I bumbed into someone. Looking up, I see it's Nicole and she's breathing like she just ran a marathon or something.

"Oh hey, sorry." She breathes out.

"Hey? Why are you so out of breath?" I ask her and the question has her flustered in a matter of seconds.

"Uhh... It's nothing really, just went on a quick jog." She says with a nervous chuckle. I look down at her clothes and notice that it's the same clothes that she had on to the mall; some sweatpants and a crop top.

She usually wears her workout clothes when she goes to jog. But I'm not going to question her.

"Okay. Do you want to join me in the garden?" I ask her.

"Yeah, that would be nice."She says with a smile.

After a couple of minutes of us just talking and getting to know each other more, I learned a lot of things about Nicole.

She told me about her foster father and some traumatic situation she's been in. And I'm extremely grateful that she trusts me enough to be able to tell me about her awful past.I would have never thought that she had ever went through all those things. She's extremely strong for that and I admire her her strength for not letting it define her future.

"Enough about me. Tell me more about you."Nicole says with a small smile.

"But I've already told you enough things about me." I reply with a small laugh. "What more do you want to know?"

"You didn't tell me how you ended up here in the first place." She answers.

"Well, Elijah kidnapped me." I shurg.

Nicole's eyes widen before she burst out laughing. I couldn't stop the smile that started forming on my face as I watched her laugh.

"What?"

"What's with all these mafia men and kidnapping poor girls?" she says between laughs.

I started laughing too because I've been wondering the same thing.

After we calmed down a bit, I told Nicole the whole story of how I got here and what made me stay. She nodded and listened through the whole thing.

It felt nice to be able to talk to another girl. Back home, I didn't have any friends besides that one guard, who I couldn't even be seen talking to or my brothers would freak out.

Nicole is really open and honest and that's what I like most about her.

"So what's going on between you and Elijah."She asks while wiggling her eyebrows. I chuckle at her antics before shaking my head.
