It had been a year since the Christmas party where Y/n and Edward got together, and every Christmas she remembered that day, and how funny everyone's reactions were. Edward had since very much matured, finally gaining something he had been missing. He seemed like almost a completely different person. No more of the drinking entire milk jug shenanigans.
They were just heading back from the party, all the others still adjusting to the new Edward. They never showed it, but they were glad to have his company. Y/n could see it. She smiled. The two were in bed, embraced within eachother. Y/n could faintly see his crimson eyes, dim moonlight shined over them. "You're staring." "I like staring at you." Edward exhaled a faint laugh. "I had a lot of fun today." He sofly spoke. "Probably because you didn't chug a gallon of milk this time."
Edward chuckled, shifting into a better position, moonlight shining over more of his body, his pale skin glowing. "You trembled like a leaf when I kissed you that day." He purred, resting his nose against her shoulder. "I never expected it..." She replied. "I knew you didn't understand romance that much, so I didn't think you'd...yknow..." Edward lifted his head. "I have a better understanding now. And to be honest...this is gonna sound silly..." Y/n felt him smirking against her.
"What?" She chuckled. "I don't know, like, back then during that time, I just...looked shit up? Like romance stuff...Like "how to be romantic" or something like that...I knew people who loved each other kissed, I think everyone knows that, and I knew people did that with others who were special. I didn't understand it very well, but I knew that I wanted it with you."
Y/n turned to face him, an affectionate look on her face. "I always had a crush on you...It started as a crush, at least, until I thought about you more and more, it eventually became me repressing how I felt about you, cause I didn't think you'd...understand...? That's why I said 'friends' when we were in the bathroom...but I never felt more relieved when you said how you felt."
They looked at each other, no words, but their expressions spoke for themselves. They were looks of pure love and bliss. She turned around fully and nuzzled closer to him, and he drew and arm over her. "I'm glad we're together." She whispered. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." He replied, kissing her head.
