Winter Star

White dawns again on the countryside.
The winter star arises once more,
And casts its warmth to shield a soul
From the contemplation of past times.

The ice of reflection, an eternal mirror
Commanding one to face
The past chapters of their story,
And is only preserved by the victim's fear.

Yet when the winter star appears
And the warmth of acceptance
Melts hearts that grief and dread have frozen
And imbues them instead with love and relief,
The icy glass thaws as well, letting time run forward free.

White dawns again on the countryside.
The winter star arises once more,
And casts its warmth to protect a soul
When contemplating past times.
