ROSE'S POV
"Are you for reals" Sophie said almost screaming into my ears as she, Megan and I sat in the Elite's restaurant over cups of ice cream telling them of my weird experience the day before
The whole story that is, since they already know about the Hunters
"You mean he did that" Megan said with more yelling than talking "Nathan Crooks, the Mr. Bad Boy, really"
"Seriously, I'm just as confused as you guys are, I mean why did they of all people choose to help me, I mean where did they even come from..." I had only realized this yesterday night before going to sleep.
I stared at my friend's who didn't seem to be seeing things from my point of view and just laughing about the fact that the Ruthless, bad boy Nathan and his friends could have saved me. I sighed and swallowed another spoonful of ice cream, looking at them.
"Well, I don't think we can actually reason out why they helped you, we all know those guys are pretty unpredictable" Sophie said glancing at both of us "we also can't say... they may have been the ones who sent those guys in the first place and just made it seem like they were helping" she didn't seem to be caring about Brian's existence now, I guess some of that died off after finding out the truth about them.
I sighed again and spoke staring at both of them "Exactly my point, so what was their motive"
"Well, it definitely can't be a story of they were just passing by right, so maybe we just go with what Sophie said" Megan answered with a shrug
But something was wrong, it felt wrong, I just didn't think they would have planned all of that, don't know why but deep down I didn't think they were the ones who had sent those guys but it also is really confusing. They could have attacked me themselves rather than sending a bunch of rougues, but again the Hunters are unpredictable. They could have done that just to have some fun, watching me run around.
"I don't know...I really don't" I said staring at the cup in front of me taking another spoon of ice cream "Girls, can we just talk about something else, please rather than the manipulative Nathan"
"You can say that again" Sophie gushed as we all laughed
"Hey" Megan raised a brow "Lest I forget...have the told you guys I am the new school editor" Megan said with a funny smirk waving her hair
"WHAT" Sophie and I almost screamed at the same time, thank goodness we were not to close to the customer area else they would have been staring at us by now
"Really...are you for reals" Sophie said with excitement "Wow, that's awesome"
"OMG...gosh" I laughed out "ohh that explains what some students were talking about on Friday but I didn't quite understand, you know I'm not really into all those stuff" I gushed with my palm on my forehead
"Wow, I'm happy for you" I stood up to hug her a bit and sat as Sophie also did the same
"But then..." I continued making a funny pouted face "how could everyone else get to know before I did. Not so fair, huh" I had a huge smile on my face right now
"I'm so sorry, I guess I didn't realize I hadn't told you guys yet...but now I feel good" she sighed a bit "I now have a job of having to paste weekly news around the hallway and school notice boards every Friday or very early on Monday mornings
"No biggie, I'm sure you can do that perfectly well" I said still smiling " You definitely deserved it"
"Well, that has been the buzzing news on the student group chat all through yesterday and you know what Rose" she looked at me with a small frown hovering across her face "that ridiculous Chris of a guy was asking me to make sure to write stories about you, maybe bumping into a wall or splattering food on your face, and I just felt like hitting that dumb face of his"
