"This, Varian, is quite odd..." said Rapunzel as she searched through and across the scroll in which had the powers of sun and moon explained. Nowhere in scroll has explained such power in which Varian now had; it was, reader, a complete different power. It sensed quite similar to the power Cassandra once had -- the moon -- but, reader, it indeed was in differ. "We might want to take him to Demanitus --" Eugene whispered, avoiding to meet Varian's such innocent eyes. He knew how easy AND painful it would be for a kid to endure the test in which Demanitus might give to him.

But hearing the man, Varian soon turned dark, barely holding his tears. Rapunzel gave a look towards Eugene, glaring hard and for long. "Uh... I mean, of course you'll be fine, buddy --" Eugene stammered, his face yet pale and blue. "And I won't take you to such painful tests, Varian." Eugene then reached to Varian, and holding his shoulders tightly -- he pulled the young alchemist close, seizing him. "You'll be alright, kid -- trust me."

Yes, I trust you, Eugene.

But he never should've; nothing, reader, truly nothing turned 'fine' with Varian -- and all was paved dark and in blood.
