I've read a story way back in 2015 or 2016. There was a line in that story that hit me. It said, "Why does it rain? It rains because the clouds cannot bear the weight of the water it contains anymore, the same as when people cry. We cry because we have kept that grief, pain, and sorrow in our hearts for a very long time and when the tears start to stream down your face it means that you can no longer conceal the pain that lies within the chambers of your heart."

Warning: long dialogues or maybe it's just for me but still I believe it's long. I think tissues are needed here.

Trigger warning: mention of death, illness, hospital, funeral

Please read the sentences at the end of this chapter for the summary.

I'm sorry it took me so long to update and I'm sorry if I did a wrong Korean translation.

Gathered around the dining table were the members of the upper class. Opting to eat dinner back on the French estate, they ended their tour early which was to their advantage because their children were all looking forward to playing in the playroom that their good uncle Bin had designed especially for them, meaning the adults would have time to have a conversation. Three of the household staff were godsent to the parents as they volunteered themselves to watch over the children. With an espresso or cappuccino in hand, the adults began conversing with each other.

Min Jung: Maybe they are just savoring their time together.

Hyo Jin: Maybe they are eating dinner and having a good conversation.

Jung Hyun: Maybe they are in a hotel waiting for the rain to pass.

A frantic Uhm Ji won went on and on about the possible reasons why the ex-lovers were still not home but the criminal lawyer tried her best to make strong counter-arguments, reminding them each time that they need to be rational about the things that they are saying.

"Look, all I'm saying is maybe they are having the talk. We need to stop and calm down. All of us." Hyo Jin rested her head on her husband's shoulder, trying to find comfort and any semblance of peace.

Ha Neul placed an arm on his wife's shoulders and placed a kiss on the side of her head. While he and Seo Joon were making coffee, they overheard the ladies talking among themselves. Their minds were definitely running haywire as they kept on guessing why they were not receiving any updates.

No one dared to speak again.

It would actually be nice if they are finally talking things out. It was a long time coming and at some point, it was bound to happen. Maybe that time was now.

Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas de Nice

Av. Nicolas II, 06000 Nice, France

“Torrential rain is being experienced all over the French Riviera. Everyone is advised to stay inside their homes to be safe. It is expected to pass after 3-4 hours,” said a weatherman over the radio. Yet, despite the warnings he had heard, the elderly man sitting on his rocking chair, the old caretaker of the cathedral, stood up from his rocking chair after hearing the news to get ready to go outside. The chance of having visitors in this rain was close to none which made him decide to close the cathedral doors early.

Exiting his humble home, he opened up his huge umbrella to shelter him from the rain. As he reached the cathedral, he immediately turned off the unnecessary lights and checked if there was trash left by visitors.

Flashes of lightning illuminated the sky outside the cathedral as the gloomy night sky continued its downpour. A booming thunderclap was heard even in the confines of the cathedral, but the caretaker didn't care, nonetheless. He only wanted to get over with closing the cathedral that he did not notice that in the parking lot outside, a Lincoln Navigator was still there, standing out because of its built and the luxury that it exudes despite surrounding darkness, but it went unnoticed as the cathedral doors were slammed shut.
