Cassandra

It took me by surprise when KC Villaverde personally called me from her office last night and invited me for an afternoon coffee. At first I was hesitant but when she told me that she has an important matter to discuss with me and this pertains to my family, I had no choice but to accept the invitation.

The first thing that came to my mind is Anthony. Could it be that Kendra found out about Anthony and she's going to share information to my parents?

I wonder. That's why I need to got and hear her myself,

We agreed to meet in a cozy coffee shop near Johnson Gardens. Kendra is best known for her exquisite taste in fashion. Not the Lady Gaga type but she has this unique way of expressing herself whether in women's or men's attire and today is not an exception. She entered the coffee shop in red jersey with matching bullcap and sunglasses. She is still sporting a short hair but in a very stylish manner, I can see strands of red from the edges of her cap.

"Yow!" She waved a hand and casually put it back on her pockets. That's the most formal greeting I could get from her considering our encounters in the Philippines. "You look like who would pass out any minute."

I swallowed when she said that because I know that my face lost it's color the moment she walked in.

"Please...let's not waste each other's time. What is it that you wanted to talk to me about? You said it's very important and it could jeopardize my family."

Kendra Villaverde signaled the crew and ordered a cup of coffee. I waited impatiently as she took the time in sipping her coffee.

"How long do you intend to play pretend?" She asked me straight in the eyes when she finally set her cup on top of the table. Half-empty.

"I'm not sure what you mean."

She smirked, "Come on, we both know that I am talking about your supposed claim that you are the daughter of Lea and Aga Muhlach."

"I am their daughter." I said with conviction.

"Let me rephrase my question." Kendra laid back on the chair and intertwined her fingers. "How long will you make yourself believe that you're someone you aren't?"

I shook my head and stand up. I shouldn't have come here. This is utterly nonsense. I thought that she would somehow provide me the answers I needed. I was so damn afraid that what is she talking about is Anthony's illegal businesses. There are things that needed my attention than socializing with what I suspect, a sociopath.

I need to find out the real reason of Roan's sudden change of residence. I haven't got to talk about them regarding this yet and of course, I need to talk to people regarding Anthony's dealings these past few weeks.

I was already pulling the glass door when I heard Kendra's guttural and authoritative voice.

"I am the real one." She said loud and clear. The other customers scrambled on their feet and get out of the building. That action was coordinated to be referred as a mere coincidence. That's when I realized that Kendra arranged this meeting in such a meticulous manner that made me think this place is a safe location.

When we are both alone. She repeated her earlier statement. "I am the real one."

"Real what?"

I saw her smirked but she didn't meet my gaze. She casually sipping her coffee as if she has all the time in the world.

"The real Muhlach daughter." She said.

The first thing I did was laugh.

I laughed so hard that I needed to take a seat and wait until the effect of the absurdity of what she have said subsides.
