So Next Time, Will You Sign Your Poem

Marinette walked into her next class with Adrien. They had talked all throughout lunch, and Marinette only stuttered four times. It "turns out" that they have a lot in common (but we already knew that).

"Class, quiet down," said Miss Bustier. "You'll need a notebook and writing utensil for this assignment.

The room was filled with the rustling of bags and the swift sound of zippers being opened and shut.

"Now, class," started Miss Bustier. "We're going to focus on poetry this month. Does anyone know a type of poem?"

Marinette raised her hand hesitantly. Miss Bustier called on her.

Marinette said flustered, "A- a sonnet?"

"Yes! A sonnet is a fourteen-lined poem with a few rhyming schemes. Any others?" Miss Bustier turned to Adrien's raised hand.

He replied, "A limerick?"

"Good! That is one of the classic rhyming poems," said Miss Bustier. "Now the most common types of poems. . ."

Soon, to Adrien, all the words Miss Bustier said from then on were muffled. He was writing a special poem.

Your eyes blue as the clearest sky
Your hair is dark as the blackest night
You say my hair glows like the sun
The sky and the sun, name another true love
So, next time, will you sign your poem
For, yes, I did receive it
I believe we are made for each other, if only we can believe it.

Signed, Adrien Agreste

He slipped it into his bag, and looked down. Plagg gave him a thumbs up. He grabbed it once again. He checked over his spelling and began to wonder who was the amazing girl who replied to his poem.

"So, who has their poem written?" asked Miss Bustier, making Adrien jump. "Adrien, you've been scratching about in your notebook! What have you written?"

Adrien felt eyes staring at him. He didn't like that feeling. He looked down at his poem and answered, fully aware of his "excuse".

"Actually, I was writing notes on poems, so I can make one at home."

Miss Bustier replied, "I get it, Adrien. Anyone else?"

Rose raised her hand first. Miss Bustier gestured for her to read.

"Pigella, Pigella, a jubilant fella! You are such a sweet and happy bella! You saved Juleka, with the help of your friends, and helped the akumas meet their ends!"

The class clapped. Marinette glanced at Tikki, as she was the one who recruited Rose to be Pigella. It was nice to see how much she loved her role. The bell rang after two more poems, signaling the end of the day. Adrien had to stay back and slip his poem into the trash can, once again. Marinette noticed and fished the poem out. She dashed home to read it.

She read it aloud to the kwamis. "'Your eyes as blue as the clearest sky, your hair is as dark as the blackest night. You say my hair glows like the sun. The sky and the sun, name another true love. So, next time, will you sign your poem, for, yes, I did receive it. I believe we were made for each other, if only we can believe it. Signed, Adrien Agreste!' Eeeeek!"

"Wow, he's as romantic as you, Marinette!" answered Tikki.

"And he's my study partner! I can give it to him then!"

BLIP!

"AH!" shrieked Marinette. "He TEXTED ME!"

Tikki read it, "'Marinette, listen. I have a plan for studying. Can you meet me on your balcony at nine o' clock tonight?' Why at night?"

"I'm not sure.  But, hey, I've snuck out before," she winked at Tikki.

Tikki frowned. "But that was as Ladybug, not Marinette!"

"Stop being a party-pooper, Tikki! It's going to work, I know it! Let's just finish this poem."

Marinette replied to Adrien, saying she would, then she got to writing.
