The next day. . .

"Hey, Adrien!" shouted Nino, like usual. "'Sup, dude?" Nino held his hand out for a fist bump.

Adrien frowned. "I'm exhausted. Haven't had a good couple of days. . ."

Nino answered, "That's tough, bro. Don't worry, it'll get better."

They walked in and Marinette gasped at Alya. "Adrien's been having a bad week? Oh no, I need to console him!!!"

Marinette began to dash after him, but Alya grabbed him by her shirt collar.

Alya said, "Girl, he prob wants space. If he's having a bad week, you need to let him chill out on his own. If he wants your help or comfort, he wants it. But don't go asking him!!"

Marinette frowned, but nodded. "Fine. . .but do you think something happened when I was Ladybug? We were having a study date- OH, NO!!!!"

"Girl, what's wrong?!" asked Alya. "What date?!"

"Yesterday," Marinette started. "Adrien-and-I-were-having-a-study-hall-at-his-house-and-I-gave him-a-poem-to-reply-and-he-liked-it-but-then-I-had-to-transform-because-you-were-akumatized-What-if-he-thinks-I-blew-him-off?! Alya, we were literally about to kiss!"

Alya stood there with her arms crossed. She shouted, "AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME ANY OF THIS?!"

Marinette whispered, "Oh my gosh, I completely forgot. Hahahaha. . ." The laugh shrank into nothing.

Alya snickered. "Well, I guess you should ask him then. Good luck." She walked into the classroom.

Marinette followed her glumly. She ended up in a small moment of eye contact with Adrien, who then darted his eyes down at his desk.

She wrote a note and passed it to Alya. It read, See, he's upset that I blew him off!

Alya answered it with, Talk to him during break.

Marinette nodded. Class continued, and Marinette couldn't help herself and couldn't wait. She quickly scribbled down a note, and passed it to Adrien. Her note was actually quite sincere.

Adrien, I'm so sorry about yesterday. I wish I could've been with you. You're amazing, and I shouldn't have left you like that. I really, really am sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you? Love, Marinette.

Marinette (anxiously) watched Adrien read it. Her stomach flipped over as he started to write.

He passed it to her.

Marinette, you didn't do anything wrong, and don't let yourself believe it for a second. It was me, seriously. You're perfect, Marinette. It's my fault, I shouldn't have left. I should've waited until I could get you to safety. I'm so sorry, Marinette. Can we talk during lunch? Love, Adrien.

Marinette began to tear up reading it, and so she didn't have a full meltdown, she passed the note to Alya, and asked for permission to go to the bathroom. As soon as she was out of the classroom, she fell into a sobbing frenzy. She ran to the bathroom and locked herself in a stall.

"Oh, Marinette!" said Tikki. "Please stop crying!"

"T-Tikki, he's too p-perfect! W-why does he do t-this to m-me?!" sobbed Marinette. "W-why, w-why, why-y-y-y-y-y-y-y?!?!?!?"

She continued sobbing while Tikki hugged her cheek.

"Marinette?" called Alya. "I'm here, which stall are you in?"

"H-hide, Tikki," whispered Marinette. "I'm in this one, A-Alya!"

Alya sat down outside Marinette's stall. "Oh, Marinette, you're a mess. I hear it in your voice."

"Alya, he thinks he hurt me! It's too much!" sobbed Marinette. "I-I-"

Alya slid the note under the stall. "He really cares about you, Marinette. He talks about you all the time with Nino. I never told you because I didn't want you to stress out or do something crazy, but I think now's a good time to tell you."

Marinette cried out.
