Song for the chapter: Little Talks-- Of Monsters and Men
Although Bianca wants to be a professor once she's done with her time at Hogwarts, she dreads going to class. Even potions, which is her favorite subject, takes a lot of effort for her to attend. Professor Snape seems to loathe his job and all of his students. Even though Bianca excels in his class, he still finds ways to be angry with her. For example, today in advanced potions he docked points from Hufflepuff because she didn't follow the directions exactly, even though her potion turned out better than anyone's in the class. She can't wait until she gets to take his job...
Advanced potions takes up the entirety of her morning, so she heads to lunch after. She scours the Great Hall and sees Juniper, Lee, and the twins sitting in the corner. She heads over to them and hears them complaining about class.
"I just don't understand why I have to learn about Divination when my career is opening a joke shop with Freddie here," George complains and Bianca sits next to him at the table. He has his birth chart laid out in front of him with several notes and scribbles scattered throughout the page.
"You have a point," Bianca agrees reading over his work. "Also you wrote that you have twelve different moon signs, you might want to change that."
"Damn it," he groans and starts scribbling away again.
"How were your guys' classes?" Bianca asks everyone else while George works on his assignment.
"I had Divination with George, but since we have the same birthday, I figured he could do the assignment and I could just copy it," Fred explains stuffing his face with chicken pot pie.
"I had my internship with Madame Pomfrey, I basically just filled prescriptions for students the entire time," Juniper says sounding bored out of her mind. Juniper wants to go into the medical field, so part of her schedule is getting hands-on experience.
"I had History of Quidditch, it was awesome! My homework is to commentate on a game from the '80s, easy work," Lee tells the group animatedly. He wants to be a sports commentator once he graduates. Bianca thinks this is perfect for him, seeing how excited he gets announcing during the Quidditch games here.
"Oh yeah, how are you doing with the news that there's no Quidditch this year?" Juniper asks. There's almost instant regret on her face as Fred, George, and Lee all start complaining about it, but then switch to being excited for the Triwizard Tournament.
"Wait, you guys aren't seventeen yet though," Bianca points out.
"Well you see my dear Bianca," George begins slinging an arm over her shoulder like he always does when he launches into one of his plans. "We're going to be in April. So Fred and I figured we could just take a little aging potion and boom! We'll be set."
"You're ridiculous," she sighs rolling her eyes at him.
"Well when we win the prize money don't come asking for a loan," Fred gloats.
They spend the rest of lunch joking with each other and Bianca helps George with his Divination homework. They compare their schedules and figure out they all have Defense Against the Dark Arts together next and make their way to class. None of them knew what to expect from Professor Moody. After all the rumors of him going mad, Bianca wonders why Dumbledore would ask him to come to teach such an important subject.
When they arrive at class, Lee and Fred take a seat at a two-top table, so Juniper, George, and Bianca sit at a three-top table across the aisle from them. Bianca rummages through her bag for her textbook and skims through the table of contents.
"You know you're a huge nerd right?" George whispers from beside her. The girl notices he doesn't have his book out and is just watching her.
"That's why I had to practically do your Divination homework for you," Bianca whispers back.
