Phil didn't let them go to Diagon Alley until mid-August. Over the weeks they waited, the children became acquainted with the many regulars of the pub. Phil spent his time trying to figure out the best way to get all eleven of their things. The books were easy you could just have one person go in and get eleven copies of each book, but they couldn't all just barge into Ollivander's at once. In the end, that's exactly what Phil decided to do. Good thing Phil had a lot of money stored in his vault because this was going to be expensive.

This morning was like any other. Phil got everybody up and then they ate together downstairs. Well, almost like any other. At the end of this meal, Phil had something to announce. "Everyone get ready, we'll be leaving to Diagon Alley in 30 minutes." This got many cheers from the table, as they had been stuck inside for over three weeks. Tommy and Tubbo immediately ran up to their rooms to change while the others stayed there a few minutes before getting up and doing the same.

In less than 25 minutes everyone was waiting in Phil and Tommy's room. Even Barnaby was sitting on Phil's shoulder eager to get out of the building. The man led them all to stand near a wall in the Leaky Cauldron which confused them greatly. Soon that confusion was turned into awe as Phil tapped on the wall and it disappeared revealing a street.

Before they left Phil made sure to give them all their school issued trunks. Hogwarts' trunks all had the extension charm put on them, a spell banned for personal use by the Ministry. They were definitely necessary to carry all of their things.

Gringotts wasn't overly busy and they were able to walk right up to one of the goblin's working at the counter. When Phil went down to the vault, the others had to stay in the lobby. They were allowed to go, but why have 12 people and a goblin in a small minecart when you only needed one. Phil's vault was number 654, the goblin unlocked it with the key and he went in to grab the coins. Phil put the coins in a small pouch he had that may or may not have had illegal use of the extension charm. Though hypothetically if it were to have the extension charm would it really be illegal if he didn't use the charm in this world. As long as nobody reported the hypothetical use of the charm it didn't really matter anyway. It's not illegal unless you get caught.

Once he came up from the vault, Phil went right over to the group who seemed to be having a giant rock-paper-scissors tournament. They were down to the final match, Techno vs. Tubbo. The battle ended quickly as Techno's rock destroyed Tubbo's scissors.

First stop was Madam Malkin's, where they would get their school uniforms. Madam Malkin got out her magical tape measure and measured each of them one by one. While one person's robe was being fitted the others were playing what locals here would consider 'muggle school games'. The entire time Madam Malkin was incredibly friendly, despite having eleven new customers at once to stress her out. Before leaving, Phil made sure to buy them each a pair of gloves, a hat, and a bunch of name tags for their uniforms. They shoved everything right into their trunks.

Their next stop was Flourish and Blotts, the books they needed weren't that hard to find. There seemed to be an entire section just for the different grade spell books. Other books like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them were easy to find because there was group of to be Hogwarts students and their parents near them debating prices. Overall the longest part of the trip was the line to pay for the books which were also then shoved into their trunks.

The next shop, Phil was extremely excited about. He said it was by far the most important of the shopping trip. Ollivander's, where they would be getting their wands. Inside the store there were walls that had boxes floor to ceiling. All of which were presumably wands. The first person to go was Niki. Ollivander was swiftly gong back and forth, when nothing happened with the wand Niki was holding, he put it back on the shelf and gave her another. When Niki twirled her fourth wand it glowed and caused a few of Ollivander's papers to fly up. The wand was made of a lighter wood called beech wood and had a unicorn hair core. It had a design on the side that seemed to resemble ocean waves. The end of the handle looked like a seashell. As Ollivander says 'the wand chooses the wizard' and it's almost as if this wand just knew of her merling origin. The rest of the children took turns testing out wands and it took almost an hour for all of them to get the right wand.

They went to a few other shops to get their school supplies, the last being the Magical Menagerie. Phil made sure that pets were the very last thing they got so nobody lost theirs during the shopping trip. Walking into the store Phil made sure to inform them that the owl, cat, or toad rule was more of a suggestion. Hogwarts allows all sorts of different animals or at least most teachers don't care enough to ridicule you about it. They entered the store with one animal and ended up leaving with twelve.
