Boo!
Did I scare y'all readers?
I'm gonna believe it for my sake.
Anyway, it's finally Halloween and at this point, Avellana and I, along with Lotus, were already heading to Harlow's mansion for the Halloween party she was hosting. Harlow is a close cheerleading friend to Illvetta, and she wanted to host a party for the spooky holiday.
In the last chapter, which was over a week ago, my honey bun and I were discussing what kind of theme we should dress up as. Since Avellana didn't know what Grease was, we at first wanted to go with the angel and devil theme, but because of my brothers wanting the family to go as clowns, we instead went with the clown theme. Lotus was a floral fairy.
We got to the party around 7:45, since the party started at 8:00. We just wanted to be early. Anyway, we figured that we'd meet our friends there since they were probably either still getting themselves ready, or they wanted to help Harlow set up for the party. It was the latter for Illvetta and Jonni since they got here way before us. Redd was still at the apartment when Avellana and I left to pick up Lotus.
Illvetta and Jonni were dressed as a cheerleader and a basketball player from a musical movie. Of course, Illvetta would choose to be a cheerleader since she's already one at Dan Uni. Jonni looked like they could be a real basketball player.
"Look at y'all!" I said. "Jonni, that uniform looks good on you!"
Jonni smiled as they finished setting up the snack bowls. "Your sister said the same thing, thanks! Y'all make good clowns. I should do that one day."
"You legitimately look like a college basketball player, Jonni," Avellana said. "You should try out for basketball over at Dan Uni!"
"Oh, I'm gonna! You remember when I was shootin' hoops in school, Ave? The one thing that gave me solace and confidence throughout my middle and high school career. I miss it. I wonder if it's too late to try out. I got tapes from my mama and papa of the games I've played!"
Illvetta came over from setting up the catering platters on the other table. "Tryouts started around a week ago, but I'm friends with the basketball coach and I can have her pull some strings. Women's basketball, right?"
"Yeah!"
"Okay, so, I can help you! Just give me any digital copies of the tapes and I'll send them to her. Plus, I'm already on the basketball cheer team...and football as well. Just text me your email when you have time!"
Jonni smirked at Illvetta. "Cool. Thanks!"
Avellana and I headed off to find Lotus, only to run into two more clowns that were my brothers. We kinda thought about dressing up as clowns together as a family, and hell, we gave our clown personas their own names. I was Rouge, Illvetta was Petunia, Indiana was Carlisle, and Illias was Seymour. Scarlette even came to the party as one, and her clown name was Dottie. Avellana's clown was new, so we named hers Luna. She loved it because it was Spanish for "moon." She loved the moon and the color white, which was second to her favorite color yellow. Sadly, Illvetta didn't partake in the family clownery, but she promised that she'd do it with us one day.
"Rouge and Luna! The lovely clown couple! Nice to see y'all here!" Indiana, of course, was one to be in character when he's in a costume. "Have y'all seen Petunia? I thought she'd come to the party tonight."
