Hello y'all hope you are doing amazing. This is my second fic so I hope it's a bit better than the last one.
This fic is set in New Zealand for multiple reasons.
1: New Zealand is such a beautiful place and I've never seen it in a mcyt x reader so I thought it would be fun
2: I really want to try and incorporate Maori culture as it is absolutely amazing and it needs more appreciation then it gets.
3: Writing about y/n living in NZ gives me much more freedom and confidence in my writing as I can use real life experiences and I know more about Nz then I do about the Uk
4: I can do things that you might not see in a usual Tommy fic which would be cool.
Some info about the story:
Title
The title is an extremely well known song in Nz by a well known band called SIX60. I wanted to use this song as it's from Nz but it also goes with Tommy moving away from his home or his roots to a new country. I don't know if that makes sense but just go with it
Y/n:
This is an x reader but I just wanted to mention some hobbies or things that will be mentioned in the story.
1: You really enjoy skating and are very good at it. You live pretty close to a skatepark which you visit frequently
2: You don't stream in this fic but you always join Tommy's streams
3: Your pretty smart and you normally do quite well on tests
4: You live in Auckland (Yay the shit city) because it would be the easiest for me to write.

More info
When I use Nz slang or any phrases in Maori I will provide translations to make things a little easier to understand. Translations will most likely be underlined and in brackets if I remember.
At the start of each chapter there will be a few lyrics to well known Nz songs. They'll have nothing to do with the chapter I just want to do it and because it's my story I can.
Also you and Tommy are 17
