"i-i was just thinking...maybe we could.." your voice wavered before your lips pressed into a thin line, looking down at your feet, "never mind it was silly.." you look up with a smile but he could see the tears that brim in your eyes, you turned away before he could take a second look, "now come on! we still have to go get popcorn from the corner store for movie night before-" as you lifted a foot to march off, his hand wrapped around your wrist, tugging you back to face him—this time with less space between the two of you,

"please say it again," he was breathless, he attempted to stop it by pressing his lips in a thin line but they parted again with another tiny gasp, "it isn't silly, i really..." he paused, his brows furrowing as he stared at you, seeing as tears fell down your cheeks,

"don't say it if you don't mean it, i can't joke about this xiao," your lips quivered, he slowly shook his head, "i couldn't joke about this even if i wanted to," he brought your hand to his chest where his heart laid underneath, beating restlessly to your touch,

your eyes lifted from your hand to search in his eyes, the golden pools in his orbs staring passionately at you, "i really like you, name."

a deep sigh leaves your lips, the corners twitching as they lift into a smile once more, "you do..?"

he nods, before looking to his side, "aren't you going to tell me that you like me too?"

you see the pink on his cheeks turn into a vibrant red and you can't help but (lift on your toes to) lean in and give him a chaste kiss on the cheek, making his eyes widen again, "i really like you too, xiao."

there was an invasion of butterflies in his stomach, "say it again," he looked at you again, letting you settle your hands on his shoulders to press a kiss on his lips, ghostly almost, "i like you."
