JJs POV
Today we are finally heading back to work. I love my daughter. Don't get me wrong. But I have been waiting to get back to work. I missed being in on the action
Emily and I had woken up half an hour ago and Mara was still in her room asleep.
"So I fly out today and you will stay and work with Garcia?" Emily ask and I nod
"Exactly, I will work from my office for a little just so Mara can get a feel of staying with her. Then next week I will join you guys" I say and she nods
"She will be okay." Emily says and I nod
"I know, she likes Pen, so I know she will be" I say and we finish getting dressed and I went to wake up Mara
I got her out a romper with butterflies and gently woke her up
"Hey... ladybug. It's time to get up" I say and cut her light on
She doesn't respond but just moves around
"Mara." I say softly and pull the blankets off of her and she doesn't react
"We are going to see Penny, you better get dressed" I say and she shakes her head
"Sleepy" she responds
"I know... but you can go back to sleep when we get to the office" I say and she doesn't move again so I just work quickly with getting her dressed into her romper and I pick her up and carry her out to the kitchen where emily was making work of cutting up some fruit for breakfast
"Someone is tired" she chuckles after seeing Mara with her head on my shoulder
I sat down with Mara in my lap and Emily placed a bowel of fruit in front of us
"Here ladybug you need to eat a little" I say and she shakes her head,
"Not hungry momma" she mumbles
"I'll just put some in a container to take with us for her" Emily says and I nod and eat some of the fruit as she does so
Once we had everything ready I carried Mara out to the car and got her in her car seat and Emily drove us to work
When we got to work Mara had already fallen back to sleep.
"I'll carry her, just get her bag" Emily tells me and I nod and watch as she carefully lifts Mara out of the car and Mara wraps her arms around her neck,
I love the progress they had made. At first Mara was scared of Emily, she didn't want to even be touching her, but now. She's her mommy. The bond between the two of them is amazing and I absolutely love seeing them interact
"What do we do about Hotch and Rossi?" I ask, knowing that Mara has never met them and if she were to wake up and see strange men...well that might not go too good
"I'll just take her to your office and lay her down. It's still early, we aren't even supposed to be in for almost an hour so hopefully she will wake up" she tells me and I nod
When we walked into the office only Hotch was in
"You guys are early" he says
"Yea, sometimes we forget that we only live a few minutes out" I chuckle
"Well it gives you time to get her settled" he smiles, and walks away
"He never smiles" I whisper and Emily laughs
"He has a soft spot for kids, come on" Emily says and we walk into my office and she sits Mara in her lap, trying to wake her up
"Mommy no" Mara whines and tries to hide her face
