Emily's POV
Mara starts school next month and is pretty nervous for it, however she Is excited to make friends
I think JJ and I are more nervous than her'
Also unfortunately for us, Mara has seem to have gotten a small stomach bug, she was up all night with JJ
We are on a local case, well I am at least. JJ is staying home with Mara to help her feel better
The three of us are up now and sat around the kitchen table as I am getting ready to leave
Mara didn't eat breakfast, she is just laying against JJ
"I love you both," I tell them and give them each a kiss
"I love you too, be safe" JJ tells me and I smile
"Always" I reply and walk out the door of the apartment and headed to the local precinct where I am meeting the rest of the team
When I got there Hotch had already arrived and Derek was right behind me, along with the rest of the team
We spent the morning going over what we already had until Hotch sent us off
"Reid, you and Kate go talk to the victims family" Hotch tells them
"Emily and Derek take the detective and go back to the crime scene" he says and we nod and walk back out
"Where's jayje?" He ask me
"Mara is sick so she is staying with her" I tell him and he nods
"That little girl has the best moms a kid could ask for" he says and I smile
"Thanks Derek, really" I smile
"And don't forget she does love her teddy bear" I chuckle and he does the same and shakes her head
"You think she'll ever grow out of it?" He ask me and I shrug
"I don't know, I hope not. I can see it now. You trying to get a date and then have a child walk up to you calling you teddy bear" I smile
"You would tell her to do it" he smirks and I nod
"Oh I totally would"
JJs POV
Emily left a while ago and mara still hasn't ate anything and I know she is feeling bad so I don't want to push her too much
I got her to take some medicine which she whined about,
Currently the two of us are laying on the couch together, Mara without a shirt and laying in my lap with her head on my chest
She was almost asleep when my phone rang, causing her to get upset
"I'm sorry ladybug, go back to sleep" I say and rub her back and answer the call
"Agent Jareau"
"JJ, I need a favor. We need someone to talk to the media"
"Hotch, Maras sick, and Penelope is there too"
"I know and I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important. The precinct has no one eligible for what we are dealing with"
"Fine, give me half an hour"
"Mara.... We got to go for a ride" I tell her
"Why momma?" She ask
"Mommas got to go help Hotch" I say and she sighs
"No shirt?" She ask
"You got to wear a shirt, but you can stay in pajamas if you want" I say and she nods and I help her into her pajama top and I get dressed
