Emily's POV
It's just 3 weeks until Christmas now, luckily since our team worked the past two years we don't have to this year.
Unfortunately for us we have a very busy day. Not only does Mara have a doctors appointment she also has her therapy appointment as well.
She has been going since October, the little girl that we have now is not the one we first met. She is happy and healthy and doesn't react as bad to men as she used to,
In the store or at the park she won't talk to strangers but she also won't freak out anymore.
It did take her around 3 weeks to get used to us leaving but now she is okay with it. She knows we are coming back
Her and Jack are still friends and they usually get together on Tuesdays when we are out, sometimes they stay in JJ's office.
We have also gotten together with her friend from the park a few times.
We are still in contact with Amy and Maya and Carina, speaking of Maya and Carina, the end of January is when we are going to Pennsylvania so JJ and Maya can talk to their mom.
"Mara! Come on ladybug" JJ calls out to her, we had to leave 5 minutes ago and Mara was still playing in her room
"I'm coming! I was playing!" She fights and comes out of her room
"I know and I'm sorry but you can play later. We are already behind schedule" I say and she lifts her arms for JJ to carry her out
"Where we going?" Mara ask
"You have a doctors appointment then we are meeting with Liza" I say, Liza being her therapist
"No! I'm not going to the doctor" she fights
"You're not getting a shot this time. I promise" I say, this is the third time she has been to the doctor since being with us and the last two she has had to get shots
"Promise?" She ask and we nod
"I promise. Dr.Wyatt just wants to see you" I say and she smiles
Once we got to the doctors JJ checked her in and we sat in the waiting room, Mara still not moving from JJs lap.
Yes she has gotten better in public but still won't talk to strangers
"Mara?" One of the nurses called out and we followed her back
"Can you verify her date of birth?" She ask
"April 17th 2017" JJ says, she turns 5 in just a few months,
"I want to get her height and weight before we head back to the room" she says and JJ sits Mara down and she does what the nurse ask
Back in the room we were sat waiting for Dr.Wyatt to come in
"I can sit with you?" Mara ask Me and I open my arms so she could sit comfortably in my lap, she sat facing me with her head on my chest
"You okay?" I ask her
"I want to go home" she mumbles against me and JJ and I frown
"I know, this shouldn't take long" I say and she nods
A few minutes later Dr.Wyatt walked in smiling and sat in her chair
"Hi guys, how are we doing today?" She ask
"Want to go home" Mara says
"I know you haven't had the best experience at the doctors. But, today is no shots!" She says and Mara smiles
