It has been thousands of years, the eternals have always remained together, travelling through civilizations and protecting the humans from the deviants. The eternals now reside in Ancient Egypt, Ajak had taken over as Queen of these lands since the last Pharaoh died. Although you lived in the large palace, the streets of the humans were right outside the palace steps, the markets and houses overflowing with people who came here for protection.

In this time, you had grown even closer to your friends, but you remained skeptical of choosing your emotional tether. However, you had mastered every new skill you tried, and no longer passed out from the exhaustion of using your new powers. You were easily the strongest of them now, and you protected them like family.

"Good morning, my lady," one of the villagers said to you as you walked the street in the pale light of a rising sun.

"Good morning," you said back to him with a smile. You and Makkari had decided to take a walk through the streets this morning to catch up and talk.

"How have you been feeling?" She signed to you.

You smiled, "good, I feel a lot stronger and more in control."

She nodded, "good," she signed, "and how about the love troubles?"

You giggled, "I have many other things to worry about than my love interests."

She flashed you a knowing look, "you master every new skill you try, but you are now using it as a distraction from telling them how you feel."

You stopped and looked at her, "the truth is I don't know how to feel, I love them all, and to choose one is to lose the others," you admitted.

She looked at you sympathetically, "you know deep down who it is you want to spend the next centuries with, you are just afraid of how the others will take it."

You smiled at her, "that is why I don't plan on telling anyone," you signed to her.

She looked at you seriously, but could not help the smile that broke on her face. You giggled with her and threw an arm around Makkari's shoulder as you continued down the streets.

Not too long later, your wrist communicator Phastos created for you all went off. "Ajak requests everyone's presence in the palace," Kingo's voice came through.

You nodded and looked to Makkari, "duty calls," you signed to her. She sighed and followed as you turned around and began walking back to the palace.

When the two of you arrived, everyone else was already there. "What is going on?" you asked as you took a seat at the table.

"No idea," Druig answered, taking a seat next to you.

"When Ajak asks us here, we come," Ikaris ordered, taking a seat across from you.

"It was not an order, Ikaris," Ajak said as she walked into the room, "I simply wanted a report on the deviant situation."

Everyone had taken a seat before Gilgamesh was the first to speak, "Thena and I tracked a few of them out of the city and towards the Saharra, but lost their trail a few miles out."

"According to my readings," Phastos said looking at his datapad, "the deviants are forming into small groups and making their way here, where most of the people are."

"They are hunting them," you added questioningly, "we thought we were protecting the people, but we have made a hub for the deviants to sense where they are."

"But they are still under our protection," Ikaris contested.

"It is easier to protect all of the people if they are all in the same place," Sersi added.

You opened your mouth to protest, but it was Druig who spoke, "from the deviants yes, but what of from each other? We have gathered them together in a way that would not have successfully occured for thousands of years, there is going to be conflict among them."

Ajack interjected before anyone else challenged Druig's words, "humans are going to have conflicts, we must let them evolve how they were meant to."

"But we are altering history, humans were not meant to advance as we have helped them to, we are creating more conflict," you protested.

"We do not interfere in their affairs!" Ikaris shouted, slamming his hands on the table.

You stood, meeting his eyes from across the table, "how long do you think we can take this, we set them up for conflict when we could help them, how long before it starts to affect us?"

"Ajak has explained this many times," Ikaris began.

"How long can you play mommy's little boy?" Druig interrupted, taking a stand next to you.

Ikaris clenched his fists, but Ajak spoke amongst the chaos, "ENOUGH!" she shouted, "everyone is dismissed, clearly the humans are not the only ones that can fight with each other."

You glared at Ikaris as he walked out of the room, but once he left you took a deep breath. Druig grabbed your hands and unclenched them with his fingers, rubbing his thumbs over your knuckles.

"You shouldn't let him goad you into a fight," you said to Druig with a smile.

"You should take your own advice," he teased.

You let out a small laugh, "and where is the fun in that?"

"It isn't any fun," he admitted, shrugging his shoulders, "but I have to admit how incredibly hot it is to watch you fight with him."

You smiled before leaning closer to him and resting your forehead on his, "why do you think I like it when the two of you fight?" you whispered.

He let out a small laugh, before closing the small distance between you and pressing his lips to yours. You intensified the kiss, tangling your fingers in his hair as he did the same to you, exploring parts of each other's body as the kiss got more heated.

You have no idea how long you remained in Druig's arms. But before you were ready to move, there was a loud sound of a door closing.

"Ah-hem, am I interrupting?" a voice called out from the other side of the room.

"Well, shit," Druig mumbled under his breath.
