You sat for some time, watching the competitors battle each other in feats of strength and courage. You admired them, you wanted desperately to be among them, but you continued to throw on a fake smile for Druig.

He seemed to be having such a good time and he went through so much effort to make this day special for you, but you could not shake the thoughts in the back of your head that he thought you were someone you were not. Instead of coming up with a game for you to compete in, he had a dress designed for you.

But you pushed it aside and smiled again as fans hollered and cheered for their desired winners. Some time passed as you continued watching game after game from the comfort of the seats high above the arena.

Druig taped your shoulder, "you should like this next game," he whispered, drawing your attention back to the center of the colosseum.

You looked down and noticed a cart of weapons being rolled into the center and Ajak walked out on the balcony again, "welcome to our main event! We are bringing back the challenge of the gladiators!" She shouted, "any competitor can challenge anyone for the title of strongest gladiator!"

You turned to Druig with a smile on your face and laughed, "you brought me here to watch people fight?"

He smiled and grabbed your hand, entwining his fingers with yours, "was it a good surprise? I had to beg Kingo to put this on the agenda."

You ran your fingertips across his knuckles, "it's a wonderful surprise, thank you."

You sat with him and watched as wave after wave of people entered the tournament of gladiators, all fighting one another with hands, fists, swords and daggers. As brutal as the tournament was, it reminded you of the old days, when the only care was who your next opponent was.

Halfway through the tournament, a large muscular man strode confidently to the center of the arena. He lifted his sword high, demanding attention as he decided to call his opponent.

The crowd cheered and cheered, this had to be a favorite to win the tournament. You leaned up in your seat a little bit, anticipating which opponent he would challenge, you imagined it would be one of the large men you saw already competing in the weight lifting challenges.

The crowd died down as the men opened his mouth to speak, "I know I am the strongest man in this arena, there is not a single competitor here that could defeat me," the man shouted, "it took me a long time to determine the opponent, and although I could come up with no one that could give me a challenge, I determined someone who might make things interesting."

You chuckled at the confidence of the man, he looked strong, but that only made him slow. "Brute strength is outmatched by quickness any day," you whispered to Druig.

Druig leaned in, "I think he plans on instantly crushing his challenger."

You both giggled trying to guess the opponent he would choose. But suddenly the man's voice got louder, "I challenge the guest of honor, (y/n)!" he finished pointing his sword at you.

Druig's head snapped around in horror as you locked eyes with the man in the arena. Despite the shocked gasps from the crowd, you stared straight into his face as a smile inched across your face, "I accept."
