“Noah!”

I raised a brow at Darrick, a friend since primary grade.

“Yeah?”

Nagtaas-baba ang kaniyang kilay na ikinapagtataka ko.

Sometimes I don’t understand him, may be because he’s taking too much action instead of making it straight to the point?

“We’ll be watching meteors tonight! According to the news there will be a meteor shower before the night ends. Wanna come?”

Naging interesado ako, of all the things, celestial things are my favorite. I love hearing things about sky, stars, moon, and the galaxy.

“Count me in, I’ll be there at 10.”

I am currently at my last year in high school, few more months and I’ll be in a university. I cannot wait more.

Tumaas ang isa kong kilay, later on, my lips formed a smile realizing what it is.

A diary, mine.

Isn’t it funny knowing that a guy’s writing a diary? It's so unusual, but I couldn't care more. I don’t care if they see me funny, gusto ko lang namang may masabihan sa lahat ng walang kwentang nangyayari sa buhay ko.

I was once that boy who knows nothing other than play around and as time goes by I realized how much time I’ve wasted for nothing.

But like what I've promised to my mom, kakayanin kong maging mabuting tao.. maging mabuting lalaki.

“Noah..”

Napalingon ako sa boses na iyon. It was Cecile, an ex fling. I don’t do girlfriends, I just flirt and give myself the satisfaction I need. But I got bored at those routines, now I just need a true freaking love.

“Let’s get back together, please?”

I turned my gaze away from her pleading eyes.

I don’t want her to see that I don’t care anymore. I already promised to be good to any girls.

I heaved a sigh.

“Cecile, look.. I am sorry for everything,” nakita kong umawang ang labi niya. “But I don’t want flings anymore. I want.. something real with a girl I can see my future with. I am sorry, but that’s not you.”

She slapped me, hard that it stings. Damn, I didn’t know that honesty could lead to violence.

“Jerk!”

I am using my skateboard, as usual.

When I reached at the last house before Darrick’s, I couldn’t help but stare at it.

It’s a huge house, unlike the other house, it seems dull. No lights outside it and I don’t see any changes from the very first time I saw it. That was weeks ago.

May nakatira kaya ro'n?
I shook my head at saka na nagpatuloy.

“Darrick,” I called when we are currently alone in their attic.

He’s readying his telescope.

“Yeah?”

I cleared my throat.

“Is there someone living at the neighborhood in front your house?”

Natigilan siya at napalingon sa’kin. Mukhang may pilit inalala.

“Oh.. yeah. Mr and Mrs. Buenaventura. Why did you asked?”

“Nothing, just curious.”

I looked at my wristwatch, it’s 11:58. Two more minutes and it’ll start.

I smiled.

“Can I take a look?” I asked Darrick.

Mabilis siyang pumayag kaya lumapit ako roon.

I got mesmerized at how it showers beautifully at the night sky.

It’s the house I got curious about.
My mouth parted when I saw a girl behind the not so tinted window, looking at herself at it.

I gasped in admiration when she smiled.

Dear Diary,

Man, I saw someone interesting! Unlike the other girls, she can make my heart beats too fast than the usual. Looking at her innocent face, I couldn’t help but imagine how would we look like when we are together. Isn’t it funny? Yeah it is, more than her wearing shades at the middle of the night. Though she’s a bit weird, but I like it.

Love, Noah.
