Doors of Moria

Third Person

The Fellowship is hiking through the mountains. There is snow everywhere. Just then, Tauriel and Legolas heard someone fall behind them. Both of them turned around, and saw Frodo trying to get up, and Tauriel ran up to help him. Frodo told her, "I'm fine." But then, he felt his neck, where he kept the Ring of Power on a gold chain, and all he found was his bare neck.

Aragorn, then, saw that Boromir was holding the Ring. He said quietly, "Boromir." Boromir stared at the ring, and looked into it as if he was attached to it. "It is a strange fate we should suffer so much fear and doubt... over so small a thing. Such a little thing." He said, softly. Just as he reached out to grab it, Aragorn shouted, "Boromir!" Tauriel tense up a little bit, getting a little scared, and reach for Legolas's hand for support. Legolas felt Tauriel's uneasiness and grabbed her hand to try to keep her calm. "Tauriel, you're fine." Legolas told her. It was the first time in a while since he told her that. It made her heart flutter.

Then, Boromir was pulled from his trance, and looked up. Aragorn continued. "Give Frodo the ring. Boromir was hesitant to give it to Frodo. Frodo snatched the ring. "As you wish." Boromir told Aragorn. "I care not." Boromir tousled Frodo's hair before resuming climbing.

Legolas' Pov

We've been hiking the icy cold mountains for hours. Like all other elves, Tauriel and I can walk on the snow, since we're lighter than men, and dwarves. Although elves aren't really affected by the cold, I can see that Tauriel is shivering in the cold. She has to be fading. The only reasons that she would be cold is if she got poisoned, or fading. If she was poisoned, we would've known by now. The only reason is that she is fading.

I grabbed her hand, and pulled her closer, and looked at her with worried eyes, "What's wrong, Tauriel? You seem cold. You're shivering."

She looked at me with her beautiful forest green eyes, and smiled weakly. "Yes, I am cold, but-" She was interrupted by a voice in the air. "Cuiva nwalca Carnisse; nai yarvaxea rasselya!" (Wake up cruel redhorn! May your horn be bloodstained!"

I yelled to everyone, "There's a fell voice on the air!".

Gandalf told everyone, "Saruman!"

Then, some of the mountain comes crashing down. We dodge the snow from crushing us.

Aragorn yelled, "He's trying to bring down the mountain! Gandalf, we must turn back!"

"No!" Gandalf then shouted at the mountain, trying to counter back Saruman's magic. "Losto Caradhras, sedho, hodo, nuitho i 'ruith!" (Sleep, Caradhras, be still, lie still, hold your wrath!"

I hug Tauriel trying to keep her warm. She looked freezing, and I knew I couldn't really do much to help her. She buried her face in my chest as Gandalf and Boromir, and Gimli started to fight on where we should go now. Gandalf wants to continue climbing the snowy mountains. Boromir wants to go through the gap of Rohan, while Gimli wants to go through the mines of Moria. But, in the end, they had to let the ringbearer choose.

"We will go through the Mines." The decision has been made.

Hours later, we have arrived at the Mines of Moria. It's..... not what I've been expecting.

"Dwarf doors are invisible when closed." Gimli reported.

Well, that explains it. I whispered to Tauriel, "Come, sit with me. Let's talk."

No one's Pov

Hours and hours passed, everyone has become impatient. Gandalf still hasn't found out the password yet. Legolas and Tauriel are still talking, catching up on everything. Aragorn is telling Sam to let Bill go, Merry and Pippin are throwing rocks into the water, while Frodo is helping Gandalf find the password to open the door.

Sam is silently crying, not wanting to let Bill go. Aragorn walked to Merry and Pippin, and said, "Do not disturb the water."

Just then, the Doors of Moria opened up. Tentacles from a Kraken suddenly started shooting out of the water, and grabbed Frodo.

Tauriel's Pov

The Kraken grabbed Frodo by the ankle and dragged him to the water, wanting to eat him. Legolas and I both rushed up and grabbed our bows and arrows, and started at it. As I was shooting, I felt something grab me by the ankle, and was dragged upwards into the air. "AHH! LEGOLAS!" I yelled out. Legolas saw me dangling upside down, and pointed an arrow at the tentacle holding me. I was above the water when Legolas's arrow pierced the tentacle and I plunged into the icy water. I tried swimming up, but the current keeps on holding me back. I couldn't get up. Black dots danced around my vision, and the last thing I see is a hand grabbing mine before darkness takes over.

Legolas's Pov

Time stopped for me when I saw my love fall into the water. I ran to the edge of the water, hoping she was able to swim up, but I saw her struggling against the current, and she's getting weaker by the second. I grabbed her hand, and pulled her up. When I pulled her up, I saw that she's unconscious. I was worried to death about her.

I picked her up, bridal sided, and followed everyone into the Mines of Moria. Gandalf had found a way to open it. Everyone rushes inside the caves before the kraken gets a hold of anyone else.
