Rose's POV
"Please come rose!" Mary, my one and only friend, exclaimed. "You must come tonight, it will be nice, a chance for you to socialise, see your brother and you might even like his friend" throwing a wink in my direction as she said the last part.
I sighed "Mary, I simply do not want another relationship of any form, whether that be a relationship or friendship"
"why don't you just give it a go? I mean have you ever even been in love Rose?"
"Love is simply a distraction that mortals allow to take over their minds and blind them to reality. But it is irrelevant either way so i'm ending that topic here." I said, trying to veer the conversation away.
I looked away and sighed "I used to care, didn't I Sherlock" I muttered to myself.
Marys's POV
"I used to care didn't I Sherlock" she muttered, not realising I had heard.
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked
"Nothing, just nothing" she replied, shutting me down completely. "I need to go okay? Talk later." and with that rose practically ran out of the room.
"Rose wai-" I called out trying to apologise, but it was too late. She was gone.
