Chapter 18: Forces of Darkness!

Hours have passed since the S-rank gate appeared for the first time in the history of Japan. Jinchul was nervously walking back and forth as he looked at his watch before he let out a sigh "How long do you think they have been inside?" Asked Jinchul as he looked at Taeshik who closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them.

"I can't say for exact but if we were to take the chairman's words into account then I'd say it's almost a week inside for them." said Taeshik as he watched his comrade clench his teeth before his attention was immediately caught when the red gate started flickering.

"The gate is opening!" Shouted one of the scientists as the crimson gate turned to blue and everyone waited with bated breath until two silhouettes could be seen and came outside Izuku along with Hae-In who was injured but thanks to Izuku healing potion she was doing much better.

Izuku was practically raging inside, he had tried to turn the Hyakki boss into one of his shadow army but he had exhausted all his three chances because of the difference in level and maybe because the bastard was tenacious even in death. Luckily Hae-In had cooled him off and he was much calmer but a little disappointed.

Everyone immediately rushed to check the two hunters' health aside from exhaustion and the injuries they sustained in their fight they weren't life threatening and were able to walk normally. "Are you both okay?" asked Jinchul, worried evident in his face.

"Yes, I guess we're quite tired after all." Said Izuku with a small smile while Hae-In slightly chuckled, "Never thought that I would have to use the survival training that I learned from the internet and books." Said Hae-In as Izuku nodded as well, agreeing with his fiancée.

"Give them some slack Jinchul, they just came out of an S-rank gate. I think it's darn impressive that they survived with such minimal injuries." Said Kaina as she gave a nod of approval towards the two teenage hunters.

Jinchul backed away "I apologize, I guess we were worried on how to deal with an unknown gate but with both your testimony once you recover of course, we could better prepare ourselves to prevent an incident like this from happening again." Said Jinchul as the two understood and accepted his apology.

The two hunters were then later escorted to a medical tent that was built near the gate to stabilize both Izuku and Hae-In injury if they were to come out badly injured. Hae-In was taken by nurses to heal some of the cuts she received and luckily it was easy to fix but was recommended for her to better rest for two days at least while Izuku was in a much better condition.

Jinchul watched everything from afar as he let out a breath of relief "Didn't I tell you, those two are special." Said Taeshik with a smirk as he wrapped his arm around his pal's shoulder.

"Hm, I guess you were right, I will have to call the chairman to deliver the good news." Said Jinchul as he pulled his phone and dialed the number of the chairman.
