Later on the train Jacob gave the conductor his ticket then went to find a compartment to sit in. As he walk through the train he saw Hermione sitting by herself in on compartment reading a book. He knocked on the door which made her look up and see him.
"Mind if I sit sit here with you" Jacob asked smiling.
"Of course not" Hermione said smiling back. Jacob sat across from Hermione as he let Sky out of her cage to stretch her legs. Sky then saw Hermione and jumped onto her lap which made the girl jump a little. Sky then started nugging Hermione and purring very loudly.
"Wow, I've never seen Sky warm up to anyone so quickly" Jacob said.
"Awe, she's so cute" Hermione said petting Sky. "Yes you are, yes you are"
"So Hermione, when did you get your Hogwarts letter?" Jacob asked.
"I got mine on my birthday last year in September" Hermione said "My parents actually thought it was some kind of joke at first"
"I got mine in September too" Jacob said "When is your birthday?"
"September 19th I'm gonna be 12 this year" Hermione replied. "When's yours?"
"September 10th I'm gonna be 12 this year too" Jacob said
"Wow, so your nine days older than me" Hermione said "It's like we were meant to be friends or something"
"Possibly" Jacob said.
"It's actually really nice to have a friend" Hermione said as she started to frown "I didn't really have any friends back home. Everyone in my school thought I was weird because I was different"
"If it makes you feel any better I didn't really have any friends either" Jacob said "I always knew I was different deep down and now I know why. It's because I'm a wizard"
"It must've been a shock when your Aunt and uncle told you" Hermione said.
"Believe it or not they didn't tell me" Jacob said "Professor Dumbledore told me" Hermione's mouth then opened in shock.
"Professor Dumbledore? As in The Head Master of Hogwarts!? Hermione asked.
"Yeah, he actually helped me get all of my supplies and Sky as well" Jacob said.
"You must be very special for Dumbledore to take an interest in you" Hermione said
"Maybe, but I don't want any special treatment or anything. I'm just a normal boy who can do magic" Jacob said making them both laugh. A few minutes later they heard a knock on the compartment door and saw a boy around their age in the door way.
"Excuse me?" The boy asked "Have either of you seen a toad around? He's mine and I lost him"
"No we haven't but we can help you look for him" Jacob said.
"Thanks, my name is Neville Longbottom" Neville said.
"I'm Jacob Archer, This is Hermione" Jacob said pointing to Hermione.
"We'll help you find him Neville" Hermione said.
"Thanks again" Neville said.
A few minutes later Hermione and Jacob came up to another compartment and saw two boys. On had red hair and had his wand out. The other had raven hair and was wearing glasses.
"Has anyone seen a toad?" Hermione asked. "A boy named Neville lost one"
"No" The Red head said
"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see it then" Hermione said in a rather bossy tone.
