~Chapter 19~

The cherry blossom petals get caught by the wind, following it's direction as the fresh smell of spring breeze fills the air. I watched as the pink petal fall down, gently landing in the palm of my hand

I stare at it for a while before the wind blew it away, out from my palm.

"So, did you receive it?" Ask Rindo to Ran who just exited the club

"Of course" Ran smiled as he pulled out nine invitation cards to a masquerade ball, painted with the color of black and gold

"From whom you got all these invitations from?" I ask him. My question remained unanswered as he stare at me with a mysterious look

I turn my eyes to Rindo for an answer, but he only respon with a clueless look then just shrugs.

Ran chuckles and lightly pushing our backs, gesturing for us to get back in the car. Rindo open the car door as I got in the backseat. It didn't took long until we all arrived in Bonten's hideout.

The hallways filled with eerie silence as the sound of our shoes tapping the floor were the only thing filling the silence. I find the silent atmosphere weird as the place was always running busy. Where is everyone?

Before I knew it, we're already standing in front of the meeting room door. I pushed the door open, coming in with Ran and Rin. All head turn toward us, everyone was already present in the meeting. I head pass Kokonoi, sitting beside him. He gave me a smile before turning his attention to Mikey.

"Everyone's here?" Mikey ask while looking around the room. I thoughtlessly stare out the window as the weather exchange into a gloomy one

"Ran, did you get the invitations?" Mikey made eye contact with Ran, waiting for his respond.

He smiled softly, taking out the fancy invitation cards and spread them out on the table

"Each person gets one, so grab them" Mikey points at the invitations before taking one for himself.

I reach out to grab one of them, slightly lifting my butt off the chair. I manage to take a closer look at the card in my hands. I flip it around, examining the carved words behind it.

'Wear a masquerade mask' Was all that said behind, written in gold. I brush my fingers onto it, feeling the nicely carved words beneath my fingertips

I stare blankly at it before realizing that I didn't know what we were supposed to do in a masquerade ball. Mikey hadn't told us anything

I unconsciously turn my head towards Mikey, waiting for an explanation. Realizing that I've been staring, he finally turn to look at me. Without taking his eyes of me, he addressed Kakucho

"Kakucho, explain what we have to do" Mikey faintly smiles at me before taking his eyes off me, now struggling to rip apart the taiyaki wrapping in his hands.

Everyone's attention was now directed to Kakucho. Me and Kakucho made eye contact for seconds before he start explaining

"Tomorrow night, we need to go to this ball to....'eliminate' a certain person" He said seriously, carefully picking his words.

"Apparently 3 days ago, I had found out that someone has been collecting informations of Bonten while I was managing one of the club" He continued

"For what?" I ask with curiosity as the unsettling feeling inside me starts to grow as rain starts to fall down from the sky

"I'm not sure, but I recently had found out that a detective was responsible for it. Which could only mean one thing..." He said looking down, his tone of voice burning with hidden anger
