Too Easy

Natural - Imagine Dragons

*Bucky's POV*

Sam
"Okay, that's the shipment. Wait for them to finish loading, take out the pilots and ground crew. Alpha team, you're with me marking the plane. Beta team you're with the wolf on the ground."

Bucky
"So now you start using the name?"

Sam
"Just wait for my mark C3PO."

I laugh at Sam through my ear piece and return my attention to the airbase where I see the last round of crates being loaded. After a couple of minutes, the crew bundle together in one group and head back inside, leaving the shutter door open.

Sam
"Now."

Keeping low, I lead my team towards the large building about 100m away. Peering round the corner, I signal for the heavily armed men behind me to stop. The entire crew continues to walk further into the building, keeping their backs to us. I look around for other entrances to see if we can execute a pincer movement, but I see nothing. At a quick glance, I can see that none of the crew are armed. Most of the serious looking guys didn't come back out of the plane. Presumably, they're supposed to guard the shipment to its destination which means Sam's dealing with them. Quickly, I count the number of crew and decide we have enough to cover them all. Drawing my gun from its holster, I signal for the team to cover the only exit and fan out enough to surround the whole group.

Bucky
"Hands where we can see them, nobody has to get hurt."

The entire group turns around with their hands up defensively. I can't help but think that this was too easy. That if this shipment was so important to the broker, it'd be more heavily guarded. I tilt my head to gesture that my team  detain them. Without struggle, they all comply with confusion as to why they're being cuffed.

Bucky
"Okay Sam, we're good over here. What's your end looking like?"

Sam
"Little help!?"

I take it back, maybe not so easy. I run to the other side of the warehouse to where the plane sits, stationary. A few of the team are outside, putting cuffs on armed men and taking away their weapons. Inside I can see a little movement and glimpses of Sam's suit.

Bucky
"What's going on Sam?"

Sam
"Pilots are down, the guards are a bit more reluctant."

In the background, I can hear crashing and grunting. When I finally make it into the plane, I see Sam fighting off two men on his own. I use the momentum of my running to kick one of them in the lower back, forcing him into a wall. The kick is hard enough to floor him without causing any serious injuries. He stays down as I grab the other by the back of his collar and force him down onto his back, winding him. With one swift punch, I knock him out and stand back up to face Sam.

Sam
"I had that."

Bucky
"Then why'd you call for help?"

Tiny Riot - Sam Ryder

Bucky
"Is that everyone?"

Sam
"I think so. *speaking in coms* What's everyone's status?"

Random agent
"All wrapped up here, we have everyone in custody."

Sam
"Okay, let's see what we're dealing with."

He gestures towards the crates that cover the majority of the plane floor. I spot a wall covered in tools and grab the crowbar secured by velcro. With a small pop, I jimmy open the wooden crate to reveal god knows how many hand grenades, padded out with packing straw.

Sam
"Most people who need this much fire power don't need to be this secretive about it. This is enough to level a small town."

I pick up one of the grenades and examine it closely. I then open up a few more crates to examine the rest of the ammo and guns.

Bucky
"These are the same weapons Shield used. Some of them are newer and more advanced but I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same manufacturer."

Sam
"By Shield, you mean-"

Bucky
"Hydra."

Sam
"So either Hydra is back in business, or our Power Broker friend is an ex associate of theirs or Shield."

Without saying anything, we give each other a concerned look. I'm not worried about Hydra resurfacing. They can't reach me now and we've dealt with them twice before, so we can do it again.

Sam
"I'll call it in for someone to come and get the cargo. We've still got work to do."
