Part 16: Show and tell

Nex opens his bag and grabs the mask you saw earlier.

N: This one?

You nod in response.

N: It's actually a face shield. I don't use this as much anymore-

Y: Oh, why not?

N: It's the past me.

You pause for a moment.

Wonder what he means by that.

N: In a way.

Y: How so?

N: Well- It's more of the reckless, troubled, and hide-y version of me.

Y: You used to run away?

N: Yup, more often than you think.

Nex says as he chuckles.

N: When I came here, everything changed. Felt like home.

Y: Oh, Nex-

N: Didn't have to wear "this" anymore.

Nex chucks the face shield back in his bag as he takes a deep sigh.

N: I don't know what I'd do if I never asked to stay. I really don't.

Y: Oh! I actually thought you'd leave because of all this-

N: I enjoy new things, (Y/N). This has been quite the challenge.

Y: Yeah-

You said as you chuckle nervously.

Still think he's lying about that.

A minute of silence goes by, and Nex breaks the ice.

N: I'll go and check outside. Thanks for the talk, (Y/N).

He says as he pats your thigh while standing up. Nex walks out of the room. You look down at Nex's bag and stare at the face shield.

Must be past trauma. Can't lie, it looks pretty cool-

You stand up and walk to the kitchen to check on Springtrap, but he bumps your shoulder as soon as you reach the doorway.

Y: H-Hey, Sprin-

Back off, (Y/N).

He doesn't stop but keeps walking outside. You stand in place for a moment as you think.

Now he can just make me do stuff, huh?

You said while raising your eyebrow.

N: (Y/N)!

You hear Nex shout out. You quickly run outside to see what's going on.

Y: What happened??

You said while being slightly out of breath.
