After patching Nex up, you hesitate a bit to walk into your room because of the situation earlier. You sit down on the couch instead. Nex walks to his room as you pull out your phone to check the time. You see a message on your phone.
From: DAD - is the signal okay now?
From: DAD - so hows your time there?
From: DAD - are you okay?
He's been chatting this whole time??
You quickly open the messaging app and text him back.
D: are you okay?
Y: I'm fine
You texted back as you put your phone down to rest on the couch. You lie on your back and place your hands on your stomach as you breathe normally.
You try to close your eyes to get some sleep, but it doesn't work. You toss and turn to find a perfect sleeping position, but the texture of the couch didn't help that much.
You put your hand under the pillow on the couch to take it off and put it under your head, but you feel something solid wedged underneath.
You pull it out and what seems to be a cellphone is found. A few light taps and pushes on some buttons and the phone switches on.
It shows a paused video of a bunch of people sitting down. You press play and watch closely. Some words can be heard in the background.
"Where's my coat?"
"Go get 'em, man."
"Fine, fine. It won't take long,"
"Don't fuck this up, guys."
"We got one shot."
Most of the audio was rumbling from the camera shaking across the floor. You see one of the people in the video look at the camera and glance at someone slightly above it.
"What is that?"
A person from the video says as he points to the camera.
"What is what?"
"Are you recording?"
"Oh, it must've turned on."
"Well, turn it off, man."
"Yeah, yeah. Su-"
The video ends there.
