A chorus of yells were heard the second Vela walked through the doors of the Slytherin Common Room. Her friends and brother were anxiously waiting for her on the couches muttering incoherent words to distract themselves.

"Hey guys" Vela sent them a small tired smile

"Oh poor you, come here." Melody patted the seat beside her

Vela sat down in between Melody and Pansy, her shoulders slumped in defeat and tiredness. Her friends were worriedly looking at her, not knowing what to say.

"You guys believe me right? I didn't put my name in. I would n-never" Vela's voice broke at the end

"Of course Lu! We believe in you, don't worry." said Theo sending her a small smile

"What did the Professor's say about this? You're not joining right?" Draco asked her

"Mr. Crouch said the Goblet of Fire is a binding contract. They said I have to play." Vela murmured

Her friends eyes widen in horror. They heard from the older students that a few Triwizard Tournament champions have died during the tasks. It was almost impossible to get through one task, how much more three?

"NO! We have to tell mother and father about this! I'm sure they would do something!" Draco quickly took out a parchment he found on the table and a quill that he conjured.

"Draco, there is nothing we can do. Professor Snape didn't even say anything about it" said Vela

"WHAT?! Is he demented?!" said Draco

"Draco!" Melody hissed at him

"I'm just saying! He should've done something! I'm sure he knows how dangerous those tasks are! Im sure he knows how to stop this! You're academically smart Vel but that's not enough for you to win the tasks! You cry so easily too! You really think you're gonna survive? No! You're-" Draco was cut off by Melody

"DRACO ENOUGH! You've said too much!" Melody harshly yelled at him

Draco stopped his rambling and widen his eyes when he realized what he said. He looked towards his sister finding her with teary eyes, holding back her sobs, while fiddling with her fingers.

"V-Vela..I-I'm sorry..I didn't mean that. I was just worried for you, I'm so sorry-" he whispered kneeling in front her

"No, it's okay. Don't worry. I-uhm I should go, a lot of things happened today it made me exhausted. Uh-goodnight guys.." Vela stood up and quickly walked up the stairs and towards her dormitories. Even if she tried to hold back her sobs, her friends still heard her cries making their hearts broke even more.

"Really Draco?! I can't believe you said that! To your own sister too? You know what she's going through and you still said that!" Daphne furiously yelled at him

"I don't know why I said that, okay?! It just came out! I didn't mean it! I was just panicking I couldn't think straight! I'm sorry ok?!" Draco exclaimed pacing in front of the fire place

"You shouldn't be apologizing to us, you dimwit! It should be to your sister! Now the girls and I are leaving and you better fix your mistake or I swear to Merlin I will murder you. I'm not bluffing Malfoy" Pansy angrily said

The girls left the common room leaving the boys behind.

"Gosh man. That was way to much.." Blaise muttered, rubbing his forehead in exhaustion

"I didn't mean it.." Draco whispered his head hanging low

"You can apologize to her tomorrow and do it properly. And Vela is a sweet girl. Im sure she's gonna forgive you easily." Theo gently said
