Peter's shaken up form looks to me. The nano tech moves back into its necklace form, leaving me in my tattered clothes from before. I run to Peter and jump into his arms. Tightly holding onto each other, we let go of our emotions.
"I thought he killed you! I don't think I could live with that. How did you do that for five years!?" He asks.
"You don't need to worry about that. I'm just so happy to see you. I'm so sorry I couldn't help you. I should have been here-"
"No, I promised that I was gonna let you have a break and didn't keep that promise. I failed at protecting you. You should hate me."
"Peter I will never hate you. Not in a million years." I say with teary eyes. I run my thumb along the cuts on his face.
"I wasn't truthful with you though. I kept secrets and lied to you when I knew I shouldn't have. I was too focused on keeping you safe from it that it ended up doing the exact opposite." He says as he sniffles.
"Peter it's okay, we all make mistakes. Have I ever told you about the one time I cost the Avengers a whole mission?" I ask.
"No.."
"There was one time during a secret mission I got too web happy. I thought I could prove myself to the Avengers and do a whole mission by myself. I left early and set up a whole bunch of web traps for the villains. In doing so, I didn't tell the team. This lead to the whole Avengers team getting caught in the webs and us having to scrap the whole mission." I tell him.
"You didn't get in trouble though did you?" He asked.
"I got my butt chewed and lectured by Fury and the whole team. I thought they were going to kick me off the team after that. I was so devastated. But after putting up with the consequences and calming down, I realized that it was just a mistake and that I needed to learn from it."
Peter softly grins.
"I'm so proud of how far you've come Peter." I tell him after pulling him into one last tight hug.
"I love you" I hear him say.
"I love you too."
