Still Peters POV
"You can lose the mask. Everyone here's seen you without it. You'd only be feigning anonymity and breathing through spandex for no good reason." Fury says as we turn a corner.
I take off my mask and look at where we are.
"Come on." Fury says.
"Yeah." I respond back as I fallow him.
"Over there we have Maria Hill. That is Dimitri." Fury introduces as the Dimitri dude cocks his gun. "And this is Mr. Beck."
The man then turns around-
"Mysterio?"
"What?" The man questions.
"Doesn't matter. That's just what my friends call you."
"Well, you can call me Quentin" He says as he hold out his hand and we shake. "You handled yourself well out there today. I saw what you and that, other person, did today. We could use someone like you guys on my world."
"Thanks... I'm sorry- you're world?"
"Mr. Beck is from Earth. Just not ours." Fury said.
"There are multiple realities, Peter. This is Earth, Dimension 616. I'm from Earth 833." Mr. Beck says.
"I'm sorry, you're saying there's a multiverse? 'Cause I thought that was just theoretical. That completely changes how we understand the initial singularity. We're talking about an internal inflation system and how does that even work with all the quantum--? It's insane--" I rant. I then see Nick Fury and Maria looking at me confused.
"S-sorry. It's really cool." I say. I then look back at Mr. Beck.
"Don't ever apologize for being the smartest one in the room." Beck says. I make a small smile.
"-Anyway" Maria says as she pulls a hologram up on the table.
Beck then begins to explain these Element creatures and how they are trying to destroy our world and all that fun jazz.
"And it will be in Prague in approximately 48 hours." Maria says.
"We have one mission: kill it. And you're coming with us." Fury says to me. I'm a bit taken back by all of this.
"I'm sorry. Did you say Prague?" I laugh a little, nervously. "Mr. Fury, this all seems like bigtime, you know, huge superhero kinda stuff. And, I mean, I'm just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, sir."
"Boy, please. You've been to space." He retorted.
"I know, but that was an accident. Sir, come on. There's gotta be someone else you can use." I say as I walk towards him. "What about Thor?"
"Off-world"
"Okay, umm, Doctor Strange."
"Unavailable."
"Captain Marvel?"
"Don't invoke her name."
"Sir, look, I really wanna help, I do. But if my aunt finds out that I left my class trip, she's gonna kill me. And if my sister finds out that I'm going out and doing this stuff without her, she will definitely kill me. And if I'm seen like this in Europe, after the Washington Monument, my whole class will figure out who I am and then-- and then the whole world will figure out who I am, then I'm done." I explain.
Fury pauses for a moment.
"Okay, I understand." He says.
"...I'm sorry, what?"
"Why don't you get back before your teachers and sister miss you and become suspicious. Dimitri. Take him back to hotel, please."
"Thank you, Mr. Fury. And, uh, good luck."
"See ya kid" Mr. Beck said.
