Y/N's POV ~
Peter practically tripped over his feet. He turns towards me and calms down after he realizes it was just me. I raise an eyebrow at him.
"Are you ready?" I ask again. He gives me a small nervous smile.
"Yeah." He simply says.
"Let's go then."
We walk out together and end up in front of a sea of people.
There's loud noises and flashing lights that start messing with my enhanced senses. It gave me a little bit of a headache. My eyes readjust as Peter starts to talk.
"Okay, one question at a time." He says to the crowd. He points to a reporter.
"Are you the head Avenger now?" She asks.
"No-" Peter starts.
"No neither of us are." I cut in. I point to the next one.
"Are you two dating!?" Someone in the crowd asks.
"NO!" Peter and I yell at the same time before moving to the next person.
"If the aliens come back, what are you guys gonna do?" They ask.
"There is no need to worry about that-" I start to reason. Peter cuts in and asks, "Does anyone have any neighborhood questions?" They all get louder. Peter leans to a reporter with a voice recorder.
"Sean Wilford, Queens Tribune. What is it like to take over from Tony Stark? Those are some big shoes to fill." The reporter says. I look over to Peter and see that he's frozen. I look to the crowd.
"We're sorry we can't answer all of your questions but we've got to go. Thank you all for coming and keep up the good work." I say as I grab Peter. We both jump up and away from the crowd.
Peter took me to the top of the building. He put his mask down as he took a breather. I pat his back a few times.
"Stress gets tough, I know. Take a breather." I say. I look around and notice a Iron man memorial. I then hear buzzing. I turn to see Peter turn off his phone.
"Who was that?" I ask.
"No one important." He states as he looks out to the city. I look to the memorial.
"Ya know," I say. I hear rustling indicating that he had turned in my direction. "Everywhere I go, I see his face. The city is like that I guess. They truly miss him. It's nice that with these things," I say while motioning towards the memorial, "everyone can still feel as if he's here and protecting them in some sort of way." I say. "I bet that this mural is Mile Morales's. I met him a long time ago. Nice kid and good artist. I wonder what he's up to." I ramble. I turn and look to Peter. He's looking down. I walk over and help him stand up.
"Let's get going Pete. We still have to pack for our trip." I say with a smile. He tilts his head.
"Wait, you're going too?"
"Yeah. Got a problem?" I ask.
"Well I mean, you haven't been in school all year..." he says.
"Peter." I say.
"Yeah?" He responds.
"You do know that I graduated high school right? I was homeschooled during the blip period." I state.
"Oh." He says. His face then goes into a little panic.
"Pete... are you okay?" I ask as I put my hand of his arm. His hands fly to his hair as he runs his fingers through it.
"I forgot what to say to MJ about you being away and Ned really wants to know what you've been up to." He says.
"It's fine. That lets me surprise more people then." I say with a smile. "Now, lets go pack for that trip."
