#2: Chance

"I can't believe she actually fell for it!"

Audible waves of laughter and clashing of beverages were heard. He felt his eyes squinting, glaring at the brightest one among the group from the far table. Tch.

He has always hated that brightness, that fake light that girls become a victim of. The light that perfectly covers up how this deemed 'perfect man' is actually rotten from the core.

But since nothing is perfect, his actions revealed how corrupted he is. But despite confirming the true colors of the said orange-haired male,

he still wondered. . .

So why, Aoi?

Why him?

"And that girl, Aoi Akane?" His vision switched to the owner of the voice with ebony-colored hair, a boy beside Souta. Just remembering how Souta treated Aoi, slowly made his blood boil. Even the scent of newly cooked ramen in this shop, couldn't calm his temper down.

His crimson-orbs darkly bore at the orange-headed male, Souta Tadehiko. Both his hands tightly clenched and on the counter.

He doesn't want to be violent. But when it comes to her. His attention flew back to the table where Souta's group is when the orange-headed male finally spoke once more.

"She really is stupid—''

With his teeth gritted together, he felt his fist flew onto Souta's face.

"Holy—"

Everyone from their table shockingly stood up. But then Akane saw another male marching towards him with a confused expression despite his protective stance, probably one of Souta's friends. Out of annoyance, he punched him too.

"Dude, would you chill—! "

His vision switched to the boy who spoke behind me, the ebony-haired male earlier. Akane glared at him as he felt himself stepping toward the male.

Akane's gaze switched to the bowl of ramen he was holding, then he slapped both its hands. Causing the boy to forcefully drop the whole bowl, and the ramen to fall on the floor. "My ramen—"

However, Akane suddenly groaned when he felt someone harshly hit his left cheek with its knuckles. Looking behind he saw Souta glaring back at him. Feeling a little trail of blood dripping from his lips, he directly looked at Souta, straight onto his crooked galaxies.

You know I could've just transformed
and stopped time here, so I could hurt
you however I want

Feeling both his feet stepping towards Souta as he gritted his teeth. Then he swiftly pushed him and went on top of him, forcefully pulling both his collars while they were on the floor.

But I chose to fight fair.

"You don't deserve her!"

Different noises and panicking people were heard around them, but his attention was only focused on the oranged-haired male, with fire-like irises yet an ice-blizzard way of darting to the pair of orbs from its crooked owner.

"You think doing this would make you—"

Akane gripped his collar tightly causing him to cough hastily beneath him, interrupting whatever he was trying to say. He's tired of hearing about his life, his egoistic-nonsensical words that he even heard from her.

And now that he's hearing it from him? The actual bastard?

He's even more irritated.

"At least, I'm far from your level of unworthiness nor will I ever even try to compete with you because. . .

you've already won in your
own stupid game."

Akane said to him, using a kind of voice he never knew he had. That he can't even recognize himself a little.

"But you lost to something too, Akane. Well actually, you never even had it. Your Chance. From the very start and even up until now you. . .

still can't have her."

He felt something strike his heart. Letting the rage flowing within his veins invade his whole system, he hastily gripped his collars.

Slowly, Akane saw Souta's face slightly changing colors. Its crooked eyes finally lose their cover, revealing what he truly is. A coward — a corrupted bastard.

His mind flew back to reality when he heard Souta's unnecessary response.

"And at least, I did. I had a chance from her in just a short period of time —"

"And you still screwed it up."

With Akane's crimson galaxies darting onto his, he suddenly felt a pair of arms forcefully pulling him off of Souta while he felt his other senses getting linked back to reality.

As the chaos in the shop finally became audible to him, his vision traveling around, everything in slow motion, he just realized that he was being kicked out of the store.

His whole body now sitting on the ground, he made his left hand run across his hair, disheveling it. Then he bit his lip, realizing what he have done. He sighed heavily, feeling the cold evening wind brushing his face. I let my rage take over me, again.

He was about to get drowned again with his endless thoughts when he felt something landing on his pale skin. A raindrop.

His crimson orbs looked up, gazing at the warm-hued horizon battling with the darkness. Finally, everything darkened.

And the rainfall began.

However, he didn't even budge. Instead, his mind flew to the indigo-haired female wherein he just found himself smiling brightly in the middle of this kind of setting. Dark. Gloomy. Cold. Yet, with just a thought of a girl. . .

He could smile brightly,
like the sunset that occurred before the rain. . .

just because of her.

With the memory of what happened earlier, he slowly felt his smile vanishing. He touched the stinging scar at the bottom of his lip as his uniform get soaked.

Sighing heavily, he continued to listen to his heartbeat blending with the sounds of the raindrops as a thought strayed in the back of his mind.

The things I do because of her. . .
