#4 : Feelings
胸三寸

Panicking fingers fumbled at the cold golden doorknob of their house. But the moment she successfully opened the door, all the adrenaline suddenly left her body. The feeling of rushing to a shelter because she wordlessly ran away from the male who only sadly watched her leave was gone.

All she could remember was the look he gave her, the 'look' that showed he was tired. The reason why he didn't chase after her. He's staring to get tired of chasing someone who can't even figure out their own feelings. Someone like me.

However, in her case, she has already figured out what she feels. It was him. Always was. I was stuck thinking of how I'm going to tell him but now, I'm too late. He deserves someone who could be straightforward and won't falter easily.

He deserves an
amazing person and. . .

Her fingers tightly clutched the hem of her skirt. Biting her bottom lip, she finally let her tears freely trail down both sides of her face.

Someone who could
stay with him longer
than I ever could

Trembling arms, shaking eyes out of focus. She tried covering her mouth, but a cough still managed to get out quickly followed by another and another and another. Her knees clashed with the floor, scaring her delicate skin.

Until she found herself laying at their doorstep in a soaked uniform, vigorously pounding her chest to stop the unwanted pain. Shaking her mind off of the scenario that occurred earlier.

Sobbing, she whispered. "What is happening to me?" It's so cold and uncomfortable. My heart aches but I don't know why. I want to scream. I want to be okay.

Please.

Feeling a warm hand gently caressing her forehead, she quietly listened to the voice echoing around her simple room filled with worry.

"Lately, she has been like that. I always remind her to rest well and not skip her meals which she always keeps in mind. But why hasn't her condition been better?"

"I don't understand either." A different voice carrying a sense of confusion followed. "There weren't any severe signs which are why is ended up with a result showing this is only linked to fatigue due to stress. And like what I have said before, she has a very fragile state of health causing her to be more prone to these kinds of factors."

"I'm just worried about her. She isn't really the type to open up about what she is going through and I still respect her for that. I just hope that even though my simple gestures in our daily life will be able to make her feel that I'm always here for her, here to care. . .

here to listen."

Oba-chan. She felt her heart being surrounded by the kind of warmth that she had never really thought would be so comforting.

"That. . .I understand. Just contact me if any case like this happens again."

"Yes. Thank you again, doctor."

With the help of the wooden floors creating the vibration of the leaving footsteps, she slowly opened her eyes after confirming that they had both left.

She exhaled heavily, blinking a few times she then finally realized that she had been standing in front of the window sill of her room. Staring at the closed window of the house beside theirs.

She gasped when she saw someone suddenly open the lights of the room with the said window.

Not knowing what to do she ducked, hugging her knees. Preventing the hopeful scarlet-headed male from even catching a glimpse of her under the starry night.

I'm sorry, Akane-kun.
