Sunlight crept in through the open shades of the window situated just above the bed, and George squeezed his eyes shut tighter in a desperate attempt to ignore it. But his mind was already crawling towards consciousness, and he gave up with a low groan as he felt the mattress dip suddenly beside him.

He felt warm hands touching his face, and Dream's familiar voice pulled him even further from sleep, "George, it's time to wake up."

As a last ditch effort, George swatted lightly at the hands gently cradling his face, mumbling, "I don't wanna. I'm tired."

He heard Dream laugh softly, and felt even softer lips press against his forehead before Dream responded, "too bad, you're getting up. You told Sapnap you wanted to help with the Philza job, and someone from his team is meeting with us today. We're already really late, everyone else is there training."

George was already regretting telling Sapnap he wanted in on the job, despite the fact that he genuinely did miss getting to work with the rest of the team. After a quick internal battle, George was finally prying his eyes open. Dream greeted him with a smile, to which George only muttered back, "fine, I'm awake."

"Good," Dream hummed in response as George stretched his arms up in a yawn.

Before he could fully react, Dream was reaching for his wrists and pulling him up, wrapping strong arms around his waist and tossing George over his shoulder in one swift movement. Dream rose from the bed, and George grabbed the fabric clinging to the blonde's back as he yelled, "Dream, what the hell? Put me down!"

Dream ignored him, carrying him over to the bathroom and pushing the door open with his knee.

"I know you, George," Dream answered, "as soon as I leave the room, you'll go right back to sleep."

As soon as George's feet were touching down on the cold tile of the bathroom floor, he rolled his eyes. Dream only smiled, grabbing his face and kissing his forehead again before saying, "just get ready, George. We have to leave soon."

Dream was leaving the bathroom before George could protest, and so George dragged himself through his morning routine still half asleep. By the time he was done, he was feeling more awake and refreshed, and he bounded into the kitchen where Dream already had breakfast waiting on the table.

He made a beeline straight for Dream, who was still standing near the counter, wrapping his arms tightly around his torso as soon as he was close enough. He tilted his face up, and Dream smiled before leaning in and kissing him as he quietly mumbled, "morning, pretty boy."

"Morning," George muttered back as a flush of warmth rushed through him.

It felt good to be back at the apartment, and he almost wished he could just spend the whole day wrapped up in Dream's arms. But knowing there was work to be done, he pulled himself away so they could settle in at the kitchen table. They ate their breakfast quickly, and Dream ran through the things that George had missed over the past couple of days.

After recounting everything important, they made their way out to the car and drove over to the training space. It was already late morning by the time they got there, and George could already picture the impatient look on Sapnap's face before he even laid eyes on him.

Sure enough, as he trailed into the space behind Dream, his eyes landed on Sapnap as he paced back and forth, eyes darting down to the phone he was clutching tightly in his hand. As he heard the door open, he stilled, narrowed eyes lifting as he started, "Dream, it's about time you-"

He fell quiet as his eyes fell past Dream and over to George instead, eyebrows raising questioningly at the very sight of him. But he didn't bother to ask questions. Instead, he took a step forward and muttered, "you being late makes a lot more sense all of a sudden."
