Vera follows after her mother, staring down at the tiled floor, stopping as her mother stops. "Behave, Vera," Hera warns, just as the grand doors whip open.
Vera blinks rapidly as the shining hall bleeds through, revealing the beautiful dining room. Hera steps back and she grips her daughter's shoulder, "Remember, Zeus, sits first." Hera says "I know Mother, I've had years in our court, it isn't any different." Vera says
Hera sends her a scalding look. Vera doesn't say anything else as she steps up to her seat beside her mother and father. Zeus began flirting with one of her mother's ladymaids, causing Hera to roll her eyes. The angry Goddess suddenly straightens up as Odin is presented, followed by his sons.
Vera trails her eyes up and they meet Loki's, who is already on her. Vera feels her heart skip a beat before looking away.
Everyone waits with a batted breath when finally Odin sits down. Everyone follows afterward, Zeus going next.
Vera sucks in a startled breath when she realizes she's seated across from Loki. Her stomach jumps as she meets his gaze head-on. Loki only smiled, he was pleased, while she was just confused, wasn't she supposed to be seated across from Thor?
Thor comes to the same realization, meeting his mother's annoyed gaze, they both knew who was responsible for the new seating arrangements. Sif.
....
The breakfast was mostly quiet, Odin was thoroughly enjoying his breakfast, cutting deeply into his specially requested steak.
Hera looked disgruntled, this wasn't the breakfast she was expecting. Frigga clears her throat, looking pointedly at her husband, who sighs, putting down his eating utensils, and making everyone stop.
Vera can feel her leg start to bounce with anxiety.
"Thank you all for gathering here today, I understand that dining for breakfast is a little unusual, most of us would be training while the others would be planning," Odin says, meeting his wife's gaze, who rolls her eyes with a small smile.
"But this morning is a special one. Just yesterday we announced the arrival of our beautiful princess and the intent to crown her. But we have yet to settle on a date for the wedding." Odin states
Vera felt disappointed, that's all. Hera on the other hand looked pleased. "In two full moons, we will hold a ceremony, uniting our two kingdoms, and strengthening our alliance. The union will be held a week ahead of Thor's official coronation." Odin says
Hera let out an excited breath, meeting her husband's gaze, but he didn't look as enthusiastic.
Vera looks down at her hands. It was all happening so fast. "Now, let us continue our breakfast in peace. Hera and Zeus you may leave at any point, so enjoy Asgard spoils in the meantime." Odin states
