"How was your time spent with Celeste?" Aro asked Marcus that night while they sat in the library.

"It was perfect, I think she rather enjoyed her time," he answered with dreamy eyes, thinking back on the day.

Aro smiled, happy for his friend but Caius felt differently. While he was happy for him, he also felt a twinge of jealousy. He couldn't help but wonder if she liked the two more than him. They were, after all, better at conversing and entertaining. All these negative thoughts were getting to him and he clenched his fists.

"She spoke of you Caius, she mentioned the moment you two shared. She seemed happy. I can see your bond has grown quite strong." Marcus spoke, seeing jealousy radiating off the younger man.

He felt a wave of calmness at Marcus's words. He couldn't help but let a small smile creep onto his face. He brushed off the negative thoughts, trusting Marcus's words.

"Perhaps tomorrow I shall spend some time with her as well, seeing as you both have already shared a moment with her." Aro spoke.

The two other kings nodded, knowing their mate must miss his presence.

The next day, Celeste received word from Demetri to meet with Aro in the library. She decided on wearing a plain but beautiful white dress, and let her hair flow down her back in waves. She applied light makeup and looked at herself one last time before leaving the room.

While walking down the hall, she hummed a soft song, smiling at any vampire who crossed her path. When she reached the doors, she grasped the golden handle and pushed the dark wooden door open, taking a few steps inside. The library was almost empty, apart from a few guards reading and Aro who sat leg crossed on the red velvet sofa, a book in hand. He seemed heavy in thought until Celeste cleared her voice.

"Oh, Celeste. I apologize, I didn't see you there, too engulfed in this book it seems" He smiled at her, standing to his feet.

"That's alright, I know what it's like. I myself am an avid reader,"

The sight of her smile made his dead heart squeeze.

"Well, I am happy to hear we share something in common"

Neither could contain their smiles as they stared at one another.

"Thank you for meeting me today, I have been hoping to have some time alone with you for a while now." He walked up to her, holding his book tightly into his left hand. "Though I quite enjoy this library, I was hoping we could go somewhere a little more... private?"

The girl nodded, eager to see where he would take her.

"May I?" he held his other right hand towards her, still wearing the same old black leather glove. She looked at it for a second, wondering why he always wore a glove but refrained from asking, instead placing her hand in his.
