"i loved y/n. I still love her actually, uh she's been my first for almost everything first person i could trust, first real crush, first kiss, first love.
god, i even lost my virginity to her but she's gone and it's all my fault and i hate myself for it."

July 3rd, 1982 10:36 am. (y/n's pov)

" almost ready to go y/n? we should get on the road by 11:30ish" as your father said walking in your room, well soon to be old room back in your old home town "uh yeah." you said turning to face your father

" also uh is it okay if kaitlyn (your bsf) can come over to say goodbye?" you rubbed your eyes trying not to cry again since you were crying all night. i mean there wasn't much to miss about this town it just was that you grown up here and that you would have to leave kaitlyn. that was the hardest thing about this hole moving thing you would have to leave her you two had been friends since you were 5 and she was 6, 9 years. just gone.

" of course y/n, I know this is going to be hard leaving her but hey we are going to get some good out of leaving this shithole, a new start, house I got for us is bigger then this one, uh better school maybe? so maybe more friends! and a new and better job for me. and the basketball team will be better for you so you can play more games and get better coaching there"

(in this story you and your dad's bond basically grew by playing basketball and he saw potential in you and wanted you to get better so maybe you wouldn't have to pay for college or university)

"but uh go call kaitlyn we have a hour or so before we leave" as he said patting you on the shoulder "thanks dad." you go over to the phone and call kaitlyn

"hello?" "hi kaitlyn!" "oh y/n! hi!" kaitlyn said trying to be happy but she was upset just like you since your moving and sadly you guys both knew you two would lose contact over some time. "um im leaving in a hour or so and I wanted to say bye but in person so maybe if u want you can come over!" you said as a small tear rolled down your face " of course I'll come! see you in 2 minutes!" "okay!" you smiled you were happy to see her but you knew this would be the last time probably.

soon as u heard kaitlyn knock on your door you ran over as fast as you could and open it soon as you opened it kaitlyn ran in to you and hug you "Y/N im going to miss you so much!" she sob "im so sorry kaitlyn but my dad got a new and better job and the basketball coaching will be better t-there.. im so sorry im going to m-miss you so much." you couldn't help but cry and buried your face into her shoulder "n-no no it's okay Y/N don't worry!" she started crying to. "but i am so happy for you that the basketball coaching will be better your really good at basketball Y/N so you deserve it more then anything. im just really going to m-miss you." kaitlyn said as she look at her watch and said "hey! we still have 45 minutes so let me help you pack!" "o-okay. I mean I don't have much since I did most of it yesterday" you said to her as you walk over to your room

when you two got there kaitlyn sighed. " im going to miss seeking in and out of this room and just hanging out here at this house and hanging out with you
in general." " me too-" " WAIT! isn't this our first two pictures we took together when we where 5 and 6?" kaitlyn said with a sweet smile "oh yeah! it is!" fuck y/n don't cry again. don't cry. but you couldn't help but let a another tear roll down your cheek "u-uh here!" you said giving one of the pictures to kaitlyn "r-really?" "yes of course kaitlyn you are my best friend and my first ever friend." kaitlyn hugged you cry again with you

after 30 minutes and you guys where done packing. now the worst part, leaving. everything was in the car ready to go but you guys still had about 15 minutes to talk so you guys just hung outside while your dad was talking to kaitlyn's parents "fuck i hate this." kaitlyn sighed you turned over to look at her wide eyed kaitlyn never swore that was like her second time and she was even 15 and you were 14 but still swear more then her "me to. it's like i don't want to leave this shithole." i said back to her "eh if I could I would definitely come with you" you two both laughed "Y/N TIME TO GO!!" as your dad yelled over to you since you guys were pretty distance from each other so you and kaitlyn both walk over now standing in front of the car

"well s-shit. i guess I have to go now." you sighed and looked down at the ground " y-yup. im going to miss you so much Y/N. i really am." she said slowly starting to cry and you did to even though you didn't like crying much it almost felt okay to cry with kaitlyn i mean you did have to leave your best friend that you knew for 9 years of your life. "im going to miss you to k-kaitlyn. i love you so much kaitlyn thank you for being here for me. really." as more and more tears roll down your cheeks " t-thank you y/n. i love you more. im going to miss you." both of you guys were a crying mess. fuck. you really didn't want to leave her. " well bye kaitlyn... d-don't lose that picture." " i won't. i promise but don't lose yours." " i won't." "b-bye y/n" as she pulled you into a big hug. after the hug and guys smiled at each other but still crying. once you got in the car you look at her only to see her crying more and more and hugging her mom. then you start crying to looking at the picture of you two then looking back up at the rearview mirror to see her slowly fade away. you knew you would cry for whole car ride there and for the next few days.
