Ezra's POV:

Hey Max we're dying our hair again tonight. Do you wanna join?

We were all nodding for him to let her do it.

"If you want an in with her this is it man." I said out of eyesight.

"It's how I got in." Theo said.

"My sister is gonna kill me." He muttered.

Yeah, what color?

Green.

Ok...

We got in the car and I could tell Max was getting lost in the signing.

He's still really new to it and it can take a long time to learn.

When we got to the store it was unfortunately closed.

Bay was really bummed out, but was trying not to show it.

We decided to try out a mall instead.

Big mistake.

It was so incredibly busy.

Bay was about to freak out.

Bay it's ok. We can leave. Enzo said.

She didn't even respond.

"We'll be right back." I said.

I took her hand and pulled her off to the side with me.

She had her back to the wall and I stood directly in front of her.

She was shaking with anxiety.

I just wanted to calm her down.

I put my arms on either side of her head, creating a little box for us to be alone in.

I could feel the daggers Mr. Romano shooting in my bag with his eyes.

It's OK, just breathe. We're gonna take three deep breaths together ok?

She nodded.

OK 1. Good.

2. Just like that.

3. good job.

I tucked some hair behind her ear.

She started to blush.

Suddenly I was in a hug.

She was hugging me.

Me.

She was hugging me.

I hugged her back.

Ready to get outta here?  I asked when she let go.

But I made no moves to make her let go.

I would stand here for hours with her hugging me.

She nodded and I held her hand over to the others.

Mr. Romano looked pissed.

So did Xander.

Are you mad that I want to go home?

Not at all sweets. Mr. Romano said.

He looked like he was going to shoot me right there in the middle of a crowded mall.

I'm gonna stay by Bay the rest of the day.

Human shield.

No one is allowed to get mad around her.

She wouldn't let go of my hand the whole way home.

So we sat without talking.

I just kept rubbing my thumb over the back of her hand.

Her hand was so soft I couldn't help it.

A/N- I'm so sorry readers for how long this book has been on hold. I just couldn't think of what to do. I'm gonna take the book in a different direction I think. Just more drama cause I don't know what else to write with this book right now and I wanna keep updating it and I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to see this book be over yet. If you have ideas please please share. Thank you. And as always all the love from me to you for your incredible support.
