Regret

Okeh, now I have angst. Why though? Well no one requested for this one, I just thought about it while I was eating my breakfast yesterday, and it wouldn't leave my mind ever since. Got inspired by kuvira-protege's art on Tumblr. (One above) All credit for the art goes to her. OC's included, you know who they are. Otay let's start

Kuvira stood infront of her and Baatar's room, clenching her fists, tears streaming down her face. She just had a fight with him, mainly about finances. Ryne, who heard the entire thing in his room next to his parents', cautiously walked towards the broken Kuvira, he lightly tapped her on the hand, which quickly got her attention. She turned her head towards the boy, and smiled when she saw who it was, she kneeled down infront of him, running a hand through his black locks, hitting his green bandana every once in a while.

Ryne: Mommy, why are you crying?
Kuvira: It's nothing sweetie, don't worry
Ryne: Is it because of your fight with Daddy?
Kuvira: Maybe it is *chuckles*

More tears streamed down the older Metalbender's face. She hugged the boy, he hugged back, his green t-shirt getting soaked with Kuvira's tears. (I want to do fluff but my mind won't let me 😭😭) The boy tried to rub comforting circles on the Metalbender's back, but before be could even lay his hand on her, she recoiled back, wiping her tears.

Kuvira: Sorry buddy, I-I jus-
Ryne: It's ok, you got hurt by Daddy's words, but he didn't mean them
Kuvira: You know, you're really mature for a six year old *chuckles*
Ryne: *giggles*
Kuvira: Where's your brother?
Ryne: He's playing in our room
Kuvira: Oh, ok... Tell him that dinner is in 30 minutes
Ryne: Ok

The boy ran off, Kuvira walked to the kitchen, feeling guilt, weighing down her chest, instead, she went to the living room and hauled herself on one of the corners of her couch, tears still freely streaming in from her eyes. She quickly wiped them away and started on dinner, some sushi rolls and noodles should do.

BaatarJr: You should've made an investment!! We could've saved money for the last few months!!!! You're such an idiot!!!!
Kuvira: WHAT DO YOU THINK I WAS TRYING TO DO IN THE PAST MONTHS?!!?

Kuvira chopped on some things faster, brows furrowed.

BaatarJr: YOU'RE BARELY HOME, WHILE I'M STUCK HERE TAKING CARE OF BOTH RYNE AND KEITH!!
Kuvira: I'M WORKING MY ASS OF TO FEED YOU ALL!!

Kuvira clenched her knife harder

Kuvira: I KNOW WHAT YOU DO FOR A LIVING!! JUST LAYING AROUND DOING WHATEVER THE HELL YOU CAN THINK OFF!!!!
BaatarJr: OH! That's what you think I do all day while you're gone?!!?

Kuvira threw the knife on the wall, making a hole in it, she grabbed it using her Metalbending, the loud bang in the kitchen made both Ryne and Keith run downstairs, they watched as their mother broke down in the kitchen, the built up stress from work, rants from her boss and her issues with finances, broke her cap, darkness flooded her vision as she passed out. Ryne ran to the kitchen dragging Keith along with him, his little brother consoled the older Metalbender, while Ryne shut off the stove, the fire was to strong, and it was already smoking down here. Ryne pulled on Kuvira's arm, getting her to the living room, he let her head rest underneath one of the pillows of their couch, with their dinner burned, Ryne and Keith decided to just order take out delivery from Kwong's.

Ryne: Yeah, we'll take two ramen noodles, and two boxes of sushi rolls. Yes, that will be all, how much? 100 Yuans, alright thank you *drops call*
Keith: Now what?
Ryne: We wait
Keith: But I hate waiting
Ryne: Then you can go to bed and not have dinner, ya want that?
Keith: Maybe not...
Ryne: Good. Now go back to your room, I'll call you when dinner arrives.
Keith: I wanna stay here
Ryne: Ok, here's the remote. *hands Keith the TV remote* Go do whatever you want, just don't wake up Mommy
Keith: Will do, bro

~About an Hour Later~

Kuvira woke up, her head pounding, she sat up, only to find Baatar on the couch, sleeping soundly. When he felt her wake up, he jolted up and hugged the Metalbender, catching her by surprise.

BaatarJr: I WAS SO WORRIED!! I'M SO SORRY ABOUT EARLIER!! I REGRETTED EVERY SINGLE THING I SAID TO YOU!!!!
Kuvira: *smiles* It's alright... I love you
BaatarJr: I love you too

The two share a short kiss, they agreed that it was time to go to bed after they ate some dinner. The two cuddled in bed. They fell asleep, smiling, knowing that everything was going to be alright.
