Feel Better?

Heavy feet trailed down the hall. Running to their room, as if something was chasing them. And that something was shame, guilt, exhaustion, and anxiety. They locked their door, sinking down to the ground as they sobbed their heart out. They dropped their bag to the floor, not giving a care on what will be broken, everything was already ruined, so why would they even care either way? A knock on the door was heard, a pause then three more were heard. 

Jai: What?!!?
Asami: Sweetie, what happened? I just saw you bolt to your room the moment you got back, is everything ok?

Asami asked, even though she well knew what happened, after Jai's brother told her.

Jai: M-my project...
Asami: What happened to it?
Jai: Some guys pushed me down the stairs, I was carrying my project to art class, when I fell, everything was demolished to pieces, Hiro gave them what they deserved, but that didn't solve the fact that I had nothing to present for the day, the worse part? Those boys were in my class, mocking me. I tried explaining to my teacher what happened but in the end she just gave me a zero for a score. I was a failure in the class today, I was always the one who had a good project, the whole class always knows that I will do my project, but today, I just broke everything, from my grades, to my friend groups, turns out my friends were fake, they only liked me because I had amazing grades, after I said what happened, they just ditched me, right then and there, only Kylie, Kyo, Mark, Ryne, Kleon, and Kaiden were left, along with Hiroshi, they were always the only ones I could vent my feelings to. They were always the best.
Asami: Did your teacher need a meeting with me?
Jai: *sighs* ...... Y-yes
Asami: Alright, do you know the names of the boys who pushed you?
Jai: Mmhmm. Zaheer, Ghazan, Unalaq, Tarlokk, (Did I spell that right?) and Noatak
Asami: Ok then, can I come in?

Jai was silenced, she didn't know how to react, should she say yes or no? Was she even supposed to vent her feelings to her mother? They hardly had anytime for each other anymore these days. They were already so distant, but not that much.

Asami: It's ok if you don't want me to come in, I just want to make sure that you're fin-
Jai: No! I do want you to come in I ju-
Asami: Shhh~ sweetie, don't rush yourself, if you need some space and time, I'll give you that. I don't want you to think that I'm forcing you to open the door, just... Come down for dinner in a few hours ok?

All Asami got for a response was a short and quiet "Mmhmm". Asami sighed and retreated back into the kitchen, uncertain about her choice or return back here, she should be in her daughter's room, trying to find a way to calm the girl down. A sudden ring was heard from her pocket, she pulled out her phone, only to see Jai's Number, Contact ID and her picture. Asami walked back upstairs, opening the door cautiously, seeing the girl all huddled up in one of the corners of her room, wrapped up in her blanket. After seeing her in this state, the heiress was determined to make the girl feel better than ever. Asami sat down beside her, the raven haired beauty wrapped an arm around the young girl. This reduced the girl into a whimpering mess.

Asami: Shhh~ it's ok, it's just me. Nobody's going to hurt you, you're gonna be fine.

Asami rubbed the girl's shoulder, kissing the top of her head, in an attempt to calm her down. Meanwhile, downstairs...

Hiro: ... And that's what happened.
Korra: Oh

Korra had just gotten back from Avatar Duties, and was enraged to hear the bad news, she saw Jai work hard for that project, only for it to get destroyed.

Korra: Where's your sister?
Hiro: In her room, I think Mom is trying to calm her down.
Korra: Alright then.

The Avatar sprinted up the stairs,and into her daughter's room. Startling both Jai and Asami, but soon enough, the two settled down and explained everything. After Jai had calmed down, they all ate some dinner and went to bed.

Korra: Hey honey? *hugs her from behind*
Asami: Mm? Yes?
Korra: Are you coming with me to the offi-

Asami turns around and covers Korra's mouth, preventing her from speaking.

Asami: Let's discuss everything in the morning, right now I want to sleep, can you do that for me Korra love?
Korra: Sure.

The two settled in bed, with the Avatar's arms wrapped around the heiress. Korra pressed a soft kiss to Asami's forehead before both of them fell asleep, in each other's safe arms.
