"Come on, (Y/n). You sing so well," Apple begged.

"Apple, you know I have stage fright," I said, playing with a strand of hair that was in my face.

"We can find other ways to have you perform without being uncomfortable," Ashlynn reasoned.

"No, sis. I'm sorry, but I'm not singing," I said, walking off to my next class.

"Raven Queen. What evil act are you going to perform for this year's talent show?" Headmaster Grimm asked.

Raven played a soft melody, but Headmaster Grimm immediately stopped her.

"No, no, no, no, Miss Queen! This music is too... nice. You will not give a performance suitable to your destiny!" Headmaster Grimm argued.

"Since my story didn't exactly go poof, I think it's safe to change it up. Do something, you know, not evil," Raven explained.

"Nevertheless, Sparrow Hood has already signed up to play the guitar," Headmaster Grimm explained.

"I'm gonna show you up big time, oh!" Sparrow sang, making me roll my eyes.

"But I've been practicing my guitar solo for a month!" Raven protested.

"Practice is for losers, oh!" Sparrow said, making me blush in embarrassment.

I gasped as Raven's purple flames appeared around her body. "Bring it on like fairy song!" Raven realized what she was doing and stopped, looking at Headmaster Grimm sheepishly.

"That's more evil," Headmaster Grimm said.

"Headmaster, if I may, I'd like (Y/n) to audition," Ashlynn said, startling me into panic.

"Ash, no, I can't sing in front of-"

"Of course, Miss Ella. (Y/n), if you're open to the idea," Headmaster Grimm agreed, motioning to the stage.

I took deep breaths as I walked on stage. I took a microphone, my hand shaking violently. A stand was handed to me and I took it, placing the microphone in the holder. I looked at the crowd and got vertigo.

"I'm sorry," I said, running off the stage.

"Here. It's a way to practice," Apple said, leading me into the room.

"Apple, I'm not so sure. I only sing when I'm relaxed," I said nervously.

"Take a deep breath," Farrah said.

I listened to her, taking a deep breath in, then a deep breath out. I pressed the pedal, and the microphone turned on. Otto sat on my shoulder while Flick stood on the stand of the microphone.

"A dream is a wish your heart makes. When you're fast asleep. In dreams, you will lose your heartache. Whatever you wish for, you keep," I sang the melody. I repeated the same words, but in harmony with the last part. The song played back to me as I did the second part.

There was cheering coming from the wall in front of me, and I froze. The wall, which turned out to be curtains, pulled apart and people were cheering. For me.

All three check marks.
