We landed in a pile on the grass outside the rabbit hole. I looked in the distance and frowned. The palace wasn't anywhere near here.

"Rabbit, that wasn't a shortcut at all!" Lizzie explained.

"Oh, dear, oh, we took a wrong turn at the flying teapot. Oh, this way!" the White Rabbit instructed.

We went down another rabbit hole, hoping that this was the one.

~~~
Again, we landed in a close pile. I groaned. The rabbit hole sent waves of discomfort through me when I got out. Jonas looked at me sympathetically and helped me up. He kissed my forehead, making me blush.
"What?! This isn't the palace!" Lizzie exclaimed.
"Oh, dear! My sense of direction is less sensitive inside the ground than outside the ground," the White Rabbit explained.
"My mother is in danger, Rabbit! Please! Please, just get me to the palace!" Lizzie begged.
"Oh, my! Oh, dear! Y-Yes, your highness! This way... I hope," the White Rabbit said.
We jumped into another rabbit hole, Jonas and I holding hands as we jumped in this time.
~~~

We ran up to the palace gate, where it was guarded by card soldiers with spears. Lizzie ran up to them, all of us slightly out of breath.

"Step aside!" Lizzie demanded breathlessly.

"Yes, your highness! Again," the card soldier said, confused.

"My mother! There she is!" Lizzie said, running over to the queen.

"Guys!" Kitty said, appearing next to me.

"Kitty, did you find the Storybook of Legends?" I asked.

"Yes! Well... sort of. Come on!" Kitty said, making us run with her.

~~~
"It's in here!" Kitty said.
"Looking for something?"
I looked up at the piles of presents. My eyes widened in fear. Courtly Jester had the Storybook of Legends. "Well, good news, ladies. I believe I found it. The much sought after Storybook of Legends! It's a bit hefty, isn't it?"
Kitty's clock appeared next to Courtly, making me grin. "I'll be happy to take it off your hands," Kitty said slyly. She grabbed for it and missed. She landed next to us on all fours.
"A-are you alright?" Apple questioned in disbelief.
"I always land on my feet," Kitty said sheepishly.
Raven used her magic as Courtly flipped through the book. She disappeared and reappeared in different places. We cheered her on, and that seemed to make her gain confidence. She took it from Courtly before she could even put the quill on the paper.
"You'll pay for that!" Courtly said, holding up a spell book.
Jonas faltered at the sight of the book. He grabbed my arm, holding me close to him. I wasn't sure if it was to protect me or to comfort himself. "Oh, recognize my little book, do you?"
"You don't understand the power you're playing with, Courtly. Put it down!" Raven said scaredly.
Courtly laughed. "Well, someone's gotta pick up where mummy left off. Might as well be me! Oh, fancy that! Lowly Courtly Jester! Inheriting the powers of two queens, no less! Well, you can be sure, little Raven Queen, once I've conquered Wonderland, Ever After's next on my list! With this spell, I lay waste the past, and seal your fate with a savage blast!"
